BET Founder Denies Drug Slap at Obama During Clinton Introduction

"To me, as an African-American, I am frankly insulted the Obama campaign would imply that we are so stupid that we would think Hillary and Bill Clinton, who have been deeply and emotionally involved in black issues—when Barack Obama was doing something in the neighborhood; I won't say what he was doing, but he said it in his book—when they have been involved."

im so embarassed that Bob johnson will go against an african (OBAMA) american whom as martin luther king is trying to put us (black people) on the map of the greatest history ever told in America. You imagine, if Obama is president, thousand of black kids in this world will now afford to be more than just rappers, basketball players, but also a black man can be a president in america. Im not even african american.. and it is above my head why ALL african american are not supporting Obama in the path of making history for US, in the path of opening the gates to our future children. I guess, imagine how Dr. king, would feel, how proud he would be of Obama. then you have some sell outs, loser, like Bob johnson and then you wake up and see why we’ll always be a minority. That is sad…

I agree with the above sentiments. However, I will go one step further, and ask of Michael Baisden – if Hillary Clinton’s comments were taken out of context or blown out of proportion, why did she choose (calculated, I might add)to say them on the eve of Dr. King’s upcoming birthday as well as holiday. Last time I reviewed the calendar – LBJ didn’t have a holiday. So maybe I’m mistaken!!! Furthermore, someone like Johnson who denigrates blacks unless they can pass off as house negroes don’t stand a chance on his quote on quote “cable network” which is worse than the old UPN network!!! I always say why buy a negro these days when you can lease one!!! Sad part is the fact that Barack Obama looks like and sounds like Malcolm in his determination and unabashedness, but is also a uniter like Martin in his rhetoric and wit. What I don’t appreciate is the fact the Clintons “assumed” we black folk walk, talk, and think alike. Because we definitely don’t and you have to earn my vote!!!

I truly hope that people of knowledge understand what is going on. Mr Johnson statement is a true example of some of our belief that the other mans ice is always colder that ours. Brothers & Sisters never bad mouth one another, especially in public & on T.V. If Mr Johnson favor the Clintons then speak on that along. If Bill or Hillary get sick does Mr Johnson get sick. Welby, your thousands of blacks are just rappers comment makes no sense. Have you forgot Colin and Condi? First QUALIFED black man and woman to be Secretary of State and before she had that position, National Security Advisor? Or is it the fact they are not Democrats negate their “blackness”?

Bob Johnson,I thought “Buck-dancing” was dead. You proved me wrong.Next time bring that banjo…after all it’s “Negra”,I mean,”Black Entertainment”. Translation: What you did was condescending, streety and a disservice to other men of color. Have you ever wondered what your so called friends/business/political associates REALLY think about you or better yet perceive you?

Bob Johnson disgusts me. Why is he even speaking?? I mean, who takes him seriously?! And I hope people realize that the injection of race in this campaign race was initiated and instigated by the Clinton Camp. Obama has consistently said that he wants to move past this foolishness and get to the issues.
