I hate to inform people but if you cannot verify the names on a petition to get yourself on the ballot than those names are not allowed to be included on the petition. These rules are in force everywhere not just in some “Chicago Style” political “machine”. They are in place to prevent “petition-packing” with unregistered voters, dead people, repeat signatures, people who have moved from the area, etc. Anyone running a serious campaign for office has the right and responsibility to use them to keep nominating petitions honest.
