Last night too was thinking that it would be interesting if President Bush went to NYC to either confront or “greet†Ahmadinejad, or to take part in an altogether different and counter event. Won’t happen and the security requirements would prove to be a nightmare.
I doubt Ahmadinejad will be confronted at the university with many (if any) controversial questions and his handlers will see to that.
I hope Al Gore or Dennis Kucinich invite him to dinner. I bet we would have a peaceful world by dessert. Democrats are smarter and should be in charge. PULL OUT NOW and solve GLOBAL WARMING! I think the Dean of Columbia should be commended not condemed.The only way to change someones ignorance is to enlighten them.Challenge the President of iran to walk across the street and visit the Jewish Holocost museum. If we can just change one’s mans mind maybe we can start to make a change in the world.I am not naive.But it has to start some where. Bravo to the Dean.He is not giving this man a platform to speak against America, he is giving us the chance to have an impact on another person , and in turn this man could go back to his home with the information that could make a change in the world today.It does start with just one person. I understand where some people may actually believe that they could possibly engage this madman in some kind of discourse about his demented views, but to think that he would give real answers and not dance around the issues, well now, that’s not naive; that’s stupidity.
