Congress Overrides Bush Veto for First Time on Water Measure

President Bush suffered the first veto override of his seven-year-old presidency Thursday as the Senate enacted a $23 billion water resources bill despite his protest that it was too expensive. It was the first time in a decade that Congress has passed a bill over a presidential veto.

Looks like the Dem controlled Senate finally did something this session…although, as usual, they are spending our tax money like the drunks they are. I believe this is strictly ceremonial, as the funding would still have to be decided upon. Hopefully Lousiana Governor Lindal can keep New Orleans’ Mayor Nagin from getting his filthy, pocket lining mitts on any of that cash like he did(and is doing) with all the other money the fed has sent him to clean up the catastrophy he helped cause.
