Funny…no one thought that comparing GW Bush to the same fictional character was inappropriate. Silly monkey.
I was basically going to bring up the same thing Nick just did. The Press just can’t leave that race card alone.
Ditto, I always associated Curious George (which they didn’t mention his name, BTW) with W. But the tavern owner hit the nail on the head with, “they are huntin’ for a reason to be offended”. Unfortunately, that is the case.
If obamas smart he will wear one of those shirts and it will go away and he will look like a guy who can laugh at himself.
I agree with both previous posts, I hear all sorts of monkey/curious george references to Bush, now that the tag is going to their “savior” it’s offensive. These types are always on the lookout for anything that might offend them.

Please do some homework, check their opinions on issues, it turns out the democrat Childers is MORE CONSERVATIVE than the republican he defeated.
If dems aren’t careful, they will wind up with more conservatives in their ranks than ever before, kind of like the RINO effect we’ve been dealing with for a while now. Just think, while you are busy laughing at RINOs, your party will expand by the elections of quietly pro-life, pro-gun, pro-borders democrats. Don’t just take my word for it, look it up, there are just as many dem voters that have had it with moveon running the party and are voting to put a stop to it. Here come the DINOs!!!!.

In a way, it is kind of sad that race has been thrown into mix this election year. On the other hand, the T-shirts will become collector’s items and people will be looking for them on Ebay after the election. Nick and Dev, Thats because there is no history in the South or anywhere else for that matter of depicting a white American as a monkey. Unfortunately there is to much history for depicting blacks as monkeys. In the same way that Asians (especially Chinese) have been depicted as smiling buckteeth squintey eyed rats. Pick your race or religion and there is a caricature out there for you. It is obviously meant to be offensive. Sometimes we are too politically correct for our own good. Assigning innocent excuses for what is patently meant to be offensive.

Whew! that was a good laugh. Now, the Curious George use in connection with Bush is obvious b/c Bush’s first name is George among other things.
So what is the connection between Obama and Curious George? In pondering that question, I’d think that even dullest person on this board could figure out the racial implications. I could be wrong but I doubt it.
I just want the black and white “americans” to quit the bickering. The Hispanics are taking over America, and all we can do is argue. Folks, we are losing our nation by the second. Whites and blacks need to unite, kick the immigrants out, and start taking back America.

In regards to the T-shirts causing all the controversy, the character is not Curious George, although there may be simularities. I made the shirts and there was no racial maliciousness intended. It is a humourous comparion of Obama to a cute animal. Whay is it that George Bush can get compared to Alfred E. Newman, as well as a monkey, in the past and it pass by everyone as funny, but noe, since it a Afro-American, oh no, it is racial. I have to say, I find it reprehensible that people have to continously cause this kind of uproar over things. It is ok for every comedian and cartoonist as well as talkshow host in the country to make fun of a white man in every shape form and fashion, but let someone stop and compare the likeness of a person and a cute little monkey, it is all out overnight war. Well, this is my opinion, and as the person who made the shirts, I had no intention to have him mistaken for curious George, and there was no idea that people would cause such a outrageous controversy over them. So any way, I feel that the protest and upset people have to move on and find something else to be upset about because 100,000 people have died recently in one place, at one time in this world, and I think they can find a lot better things to waste their energy on. In regards to these shirts, no one is more offended when a racist gesture or comment is made than I am. I am a close friend with the creator of these shirts, and while at first the shirts seemed somewhat inappropriate to me. I also know Kelly, and I know his heart. He would never want anyone stereotyped or treated unfairly for any reason. Depictions are made all the time of court trials, of politicians, and actors. I think that he meant this all in good fun, and would never in any way condone anyone using these shirts in a racist way.

This is mild in comparison to the depictions of George W. Bush from the democrat left in this country. Democrats see everything throught the eyes of race. Just look at their own party. Every thing with Obama and Clinton is about race. It was democrats who created all of these government forms asking you to identify your race (check caucasian, african american, asian, etc.).
I’m going to make a trip over to Mulligans to by lunch for our office today as a “counter protest.”
