Barbara, regardless of the number of terms they’ve served few senators ever get elected to the presidency. The demands of the job give them little time to campaign, unless they totally shirk their voting responsibilities in the Senate as Obama, Hillary, and McCain have done during this primary season. Being a U.S. senator has never been the best way to get into the White House. U.S. governors, on the other hand, usually are the most qualified for the presidency. George Bush was governor of Texas before becoming president. Please go back and study some basic political science before insinuating that just because Bush wasn’t a senator he had no experience. Governors are almost always more qualified to be president than are senators.

So how does this ad work ?

The Republicans have exhausted their credibility (think swiftboat, or their reasons for going to war with Iraq, or a million other things) so they are reduced to trying to bolster their candidate by quoting Democrats who have some ?
