‘Devious Reasons’: Rev. Wright Shares Deep Indignation With Bill Moyers

"I felt it was unfair. I felt it was unjust. I felt it was untrue. I felt—for those who were doing that—were doing it for some very devious reasons."

Whit washed bones. Oh, Lord, thank You that I am not like those men on the other corner.

A modern day Pharasee.

It’s not my fault. They twisted my words. I really didn’t mean what it sounded like I meant.

REPENT CALL THE WATCHMEN TO THE WALL!

WHEN WRIGHT IS SO WRONG:

Let’s see if we understand Wright correctly:

His comments were just sound bites. We didn’t listen to the whole speech. That those who brought the issue to the fore were doing it for some very devious reasons.

Well, please explain the following: (1) Wright’s awarding the resolutely racist Farrahkan with a medal from his church (The Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award presented for man who “truly epitomized greatness.”); and (2) Hamas literature being distributed in his church.

These are not sound bites but simple statements of fact that confirm the problematic nature of Obama’s 20-year affiliation with this vital “spiritual” influence.

This phoney baloney elitist so called rev. gets to retire to a mansion.

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/03/27/obamas-former-pastor-builds-a-multimillion-dollar-retirement-home/

A two-week FOX News investigation, however, has uncovered where Wright will be spending a good deal of his time in retirement, and it is a far cry from the impoverished Chicago streets where the preacher led his ministry for 36 years.

FOX News has uncovered documents that indicate Wright is about to move to a 10,340-square-foot, four-bedroom home in suburban Chicago, currently under construction in a gated community.

While it is not uncommon for an accomplished clergyman to live in luxury, Wright’s retirement residence is raising some questions.

“Some people think deals like this are hypocritical. Jeremiah Wright himself criticizes people from the pulpit for middle classism, for too much materialism,” said Andrew Walsh, Associate Director of the Leonard E. Greenberg Center for the Study of Religion in Public Life with Trinity College in Hartford, Conn.

“So he’s entitled to be tweaked here. So the question really is, how unusual is this? Somewhat unusual,” he said.

Wright still continues to bash America, is America perfect, no, but this man has psychological issues.

That PBS could give Bill Moyers such a platform tells us much about the reliability of PBS political documentaries.

One Smart American   April 25th, 2008 - 2:50 am

What a phoney, he’s just pretending to be a calm, intelligent, articulate, caring person. We know better. Democrumbs like Moyers cant fool us. That probably wassnt even the so Called Reverend Wright, it was probably just an actor dressed up to look like him .

Thank God for the smart people like us on this board who are feretting out the Truth. If Bar-yuck Hussein is elected, this country will get trillions of dollars in debt to countries like Saudi Arabia and we’ll be paying them millions of dollars every day just in interest. So elect a Republican so that won’t ever happen.

The audacity of a dope.

Dave's world   April 25th, 2008 - 4:44 am

Mr. Phoney baloney preacher man is going on the offensive. It’s good to see. Maybe he can explain his way out of how the CIA came up with AIDS to kill the black man. On the evil of white America. And exactly why he’s building a multi million dollar home in a gated white community. Man of God my backside, he’s only interested in divine PROFIT.

WE have dubious reasons for highlighting your ignorant hate-mongering sermons? I suppose the reasons you use a beautiful religion for your own racist agenda are all on the up and up?

Dave M   April 25th, 2008 - 5:06 am

Bill Moyer….wow ,now thats is some tough journalism!! .did they sing kum ba ya after the show

Stan   April 25th, 2008 - 5:52 am

AIDs is a creation of the US government to keep black people down? (Just to share one little bit of Wright’s lunacy)

Clearly you are a wackadoodle, Rev..

Deano Del Fuego   April 25th, 2008 - 5:59 am

You must watch that whole interview. I never knew that the Rev Wright could be so calm and rational. Based on the “sound bites”, I thought all he did was work up a sweat wearing a daisheeki and rant about how whitey is destroying everything good with the world. Clearly I was wrong to think that and I have Bill Moyers to thanks for presenting him in a much more reasonable perspective. Another useful idiotic f_cking tool for Barack and the democrats. These people have no shame.

Dan, St. Louis   April 25th, 2008 - 6:51 am

I wonder how reserved and calm the Rev. Wright will be when he speaks at the NAACP?

RWR   April 25th, 2008 - 7:24 am

My devious reasons are to see that his lying, pandering, snake oil salesman deciple isn’t elected president.

MaoDemChe   April 25th, 2008 - 8:11 am

Did Moyers kiss Wright? They are both cut from the same theological cloth.

Glynrd Skynrd   April 25th, 2008 - 9:16 am

I just love the slow pitch baseball the liberals play with those they want to promote. Maybe Bill Moyer will score high enough to get at skit on SNL like those who played the same softball with BHO (not to be confused w/ Bachman Turner Overdrive). If the wrong reverand Wrights entire sermon had been played his words “God d_mn American, KKKK, etc.” would still have played the same. How IGNORANT are we to let people continue to load us down with “whitey guilt?” while being fed tripe?

rr   April 25th, 2008 - 12:19 pm

Listen to Moyers hushed tones. Imagine him speaking with a white man who had said such disgusting things. “Yes, but…” and “Wait one minute..” But no…. Moyers is with a po’ po’ misunderstood saint! This is atrocious. And Wright STILL doesn’t think he did anything wrong!
