Drunkorexia: Women Trade Meals For Martinis

"With extreme drunkorexia we end up with people so badly nourished that their ability to function cognitively and emotionally is impaired."

Dateline:
John   June 13th, 2008 - 12:49 pm

Not a good development. When I was that age women traded sex for drinks. Now their trading meals for drinks?

Mark Carlton   June 13th, 2008 - 1:16 pm

When they get so fat they can’t waddle out of the bar, maybe it will dawn on them that alcohol is a sugar-related compound. But maybe they’ll be too drunk to care.

Harry G   June 13th, 2008 - 1:17 pm

Drunkorexia?? Give me a break!!! Call it what it is: ALCOHOLISM

Dutch269   June 13th, 2008 - 1:23 pm

OMG, poor women… booo whoooo…

Women have an excuse for everything they do, and there is still this common belief they are the better gender, how is that possible???

This is not news, this is more female victimization for the sake or more intitlements. Where will it end?

Flyoverman   June 13th, 2008 - 1:59 pm

“their ability to function cognitively and emotionally is impaired.”

You mean they turn into liberals?

Don   June 13th, 2008 - 2:00 pm

More tabloid made up crisis bullcrap. Must be sweeps again.

PUNABUDDY   June 13th, 2008 - 2:02 pm

just a bunch of stupid alcoholics

have a burger and a beer and all is right in the world

Sheriffshingles   June 13th, 2008 - 2:10 pm

Where are the results from Drunkorexia? I see nothing but fat people everywhere. There isn’t that much pressure to be thin.

brian cochran   June 13th, 2008 - 2:12 pm

Another breath taking expose with “gloom and doom” music in the background. You line up a “serious expert” and people are glued to the tv.

This is not new. It is not news. It is selling advertising space.

CaveManMike   June 13th, 2008 - 3:05 pm

Skinny drunk chicks! That’s awsome, I wish every woman was drunkerexic; I might get laid more often, and by skinny chicks!

GlobalObserver   June 13th, 2008 - 3:25 pm

Don’t worry John, they still trade sex for drinks. But now you don’t have to buy them dinner!

sexorexia   June 13th, 2008 - 3:29 pm

“When they get so fat they can’t waddle out of the bar, maybe it will dawn on them that alcohol is a sugar-related compound. ”

exactly. these chicks are amateur at best. there has to be some sort of exercise routine combined with the drunkorexia for this to be effective. i recommend sex. it’s easily obtainable and you have a high chance of burning even more calories being that you will be intoxicated and more than likely willing to do things in bed you wouldn’t do while sober. but, if you are a straight woman- do not swallow! it will be counterproductive!

dm   June 13th, 2008 - 3:41 pm

Drunkorexia? Damn, and all along I thought these people asking for spare change to get a drink were alcoholics. I did not know they were just trying to stay slim for their friends.

Carmen   June 13th, 2008 - 3:43 pm

Oh JEEZ!!! Tell these women to get over themselves….drunorexia?? Really? I mean really?? Maybe they’re just drunks looking for an excuse? Honestly, I can’t even believe someone is looking into this….and this is news???

Ruth D   June 13th, 2008 - 3:54 pm

In my day we called a spade a spade, today they have to have Fancy Names and many excuses for doing what we all know should not be done, but excuses always seem to work; and of course, we must have a Fancy Name like Drunorexia!!! What next.

Vaughn   June 13th, 2008 - 4:14 pm

Maybe if women had to pay for their own drinks they wouldn’t drink so much. Most women are ‘cognitively and emotionally impaired’ with or without alchohol anyway.

H8R   June 13th, 2008 - 4:27 pm

Sounds great.

ST333   June 13th, 2008 - 4:51 pm

News Flash for the chicks that “suffer” from this made up disorder: Alcohol is sugar and carbs. Here’s another one: Your metabolism works faster when you eat meals. Starving slows the metabolism and zaps your energy. Last one: Forget becoming fat from eating, you’re an alcoholic if you replace meals with booze daily.

foutsc   June 13th, 2008 - 4:53 pm

I can remember a time when men were the stupid ones…

TNap   June 13th, 2008 - 4:58 pm

We all knew that this was about white women before watching the video.

tipsy   June 13th, 2008 - 5:14 pm

I’ll drink to that!

LEBR   June 13th, 2008 - 5:19 pm

I agree with Harry G. it is ALCOHOLISM…
You can dress it up in a new suit of clothes, but it is still ALCOHOLISM….I am a 47 year old male. I now know what my ailment has been for twenty years. The cure is that I need to start eating. Cool–did not know that. I will eat the fruit salad offered at the bar. I have always liked oranges, cherries and pineapples. I guess a little celery, olives and V8 will cure me, as well.

JEFF   June 13th, 2008 - 6:01 pm

I have stonedorexia but all it does is make me fatter…

Felix   June 13th, 2008 - 6:19 pm

Let hillary clinton work on this, she seems to be becoming a member in good standing of Drunkorexiaitis the way she was pounding em down toward the end of the campagne….oh wait shes still around isn’t she, hovering above obama’s head waiting for a chance to pounce, cocktail in hand ! Its all Bills fault.

Tamie   June 13th, 2008 - 7:08 pm

This is not a new trend – these are women that are dually diagnosed – eating disorders and alcoholism. Why does the media feel the need to give such offensive labels to people with real problems? I am recovered from an eating disorder and I am also an alcoholic that has been sober for 11 years – I find drunkorexic highly offensive.

Farmer Bob   June 13th, 2008 - 8:10 pm

With all these spiffy new modern disorders there’s hardly any room for just plain old lack of character anymore. I rather like “drunkorex” though. It’s close enough to “train wrecks” to tell the real story.

Ai Tyler   June 13th, 2008 - 8:24 pm

Vaughn:

Not every woman is “cognitively or emotionally disabled.” Try on the fact that I have a P.h.D. from a very good university, a lovely relationship and do enjoy a nice glass of wine from time to time. And yes, I do eat. Your views are remarkably outdated. Do yourself and all the women around you a favour…don’t breed. You sound like a misogynist. Look the word up. AT

Framl   June 13th, 2008 - 9:43 pm

How many “Barefoot and Pregnangt” women suffer from drunkorexia or any other “exia”. Perverted women have ruined all our lives to prove a stupid point.

Ms Tyler   June 13th, 2008 - 10:00 pm

Suuuure you do sweetie. And I have one from Harvard too. Whatever ms sensitive. Leave the books and your cats alone you wino and go out and find a real man instead of wasting your breath on the computer if you are so smart. We are all impressed you own a dictionary too. You are all emotionally disturbed, some more than others. Hmm, do I smell low tide?

qazi   June 13th, 2008 - 10:07 pm

20The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.
21And the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:
Esther 1:10

8Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters;
9Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed:
10But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.

12Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,
13Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD.

Drunk or not, all you need to realise that you should be tipping 20% for your booze and food.

That person bringing you those calories only makes 2 bucks/hr.

We also have to tip out up to 5% of total sales to bartenders and bussers.

Please don’t forget us, we need the money so that we may buy our own booze and food.

“Drunkorexia?? Give me a break!!! Call it what it is: ALCOHOLISM” (Harry G: Post #3)
————————————————-
You beat me to it! Ditto!! Good grief!!

Burp_Hiccup!   June 14th, 2008 - 4:59 am

I’m glad someone re-wrote the Bible for us…I feel much better now!

I am a drunk (not be confused with an alcoholic…it’s in the Bible, look it up!) and the worse thing for a $20 buzz is a $2 hamburger!

Any decent drunk (it’s in the Bible…look it up) knows you NEVER eat anything…what a waste? That’s alcohol abuse and that’s nothing but pure old fashion Communism…it’s in the Bible, look it up!
