[...] Ex-Republican Bob Barr seeks the nomination to run for the presidency. Every American ought seek to understand the principles of the Libertarians, even if they vote for someone else. And, I think, getting Barr would be a coup of sorts for the party’s longer-term ambitions to become a major player in American politics. The key for Barr is to work to support candidates at the state level, to build intimacy with the voting public. [...]
who the phuk is this tool?
Wait, he showed an FDA logo up there in his announcement video (which is mucho lame, BTW) critiquing it among other agencies – and it’s one which Libertarians often say they’d eliminate. Does he want to go back to the “good old days” back in 1905 when their wasn’t even a pretense of food inspection? Yeah, that’s a winner. Good luck with that, Bob.
Man is that guy red.
I’m not a Libertarian (yet) but from what I gather the idea is that if the consumer wants to pay for goods and services with an inspection label from a third party source then they can do so. Sort of like deciding to pay extra for something with a UL label or some knockoff electronic gizmo that you take your chances with. An organization like the FDA is still necessary, however let it run as an independent business.
