3: Asking someone for their ID is not discriminatory, racist, or illegal (In Arizona, if you commit a crime, even a minor offense, without an ID, you are to be held until an ID is produced).
4: Because someone feels discriminated against or abused DOES NOT mean they are being discriminated against or abused (Who likes being pulled over and asked for identification?).
5: A country’s main mission is to protect its citizens (emphasize citizens) from enemies, foreign and domestic.
6: Point to every other country’s immigration policy (I like to mention how Mexico protects its southern border with its military).

While it often is difficult to establish that an employer knew an employee was illegal, it is not difficult to establish that an employer failed to complete the I‐9 process; it is also not difficult to encourage employers to use the Basic Pilot to verify work eligibility.
Each Department of the Federal Government is required to participate in a pilot program to verify the employment eligibility of its employees and to comply with the terms and conditions of such participation. §402
The 1996 law created three different pilot programs from which government agencies could choose; when two of them were allowed to lapse and only one, the Basic Pilot, was extended, agencies using one of the lapsed pilots simply stopped participating rather than sign up for the remaining one.

DHS still uses multiple databases to process and store information about aliens, and there is no way to retrieve reliably all information about an alien through a single query.
DHS is required to process all aliens through US‐VISIT (the automated entry‐exit control system) so as to “collect a record of departure for every alien departing the United States and match the records of departure with the record of the alien’s arrival in the United States.” (emphasis added) §110 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (P.L. 104‐208)
Only about 20 percent of nonimmigrants are being process through the entry part of US‐VISIT; the other 80 percent of nonimmigrants and all immigrants (lawful permanent residents) have been exempted from the system by the Administration; in December of 2006, DHS announced that it did not intend to implement the exit portion of the system because it would be too complicated.
Aliens who commit fraud, use false or altered documents, or make misrepresentations on applications for immigration benefits—including extensions of stay, lawful permanent residence, and naturalization—are ineligible for those benefits. §§212, 237, 340
Out of a total of 7.3 million applications for immigration benefits processed in 2005, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services denied only 19,000 as involving fraud. Adjudicators believe that a significant share of the remaining 800,000 denials that year involved fraud, but it was easier to deny them on other grounds. Applicants who are denied for reasons other than fraud, however, are free to apply again and again until they are successful, whereas those denied for fraud are prohibited from re‐filing.
The Secretary of DHS is authorized to expand expedited removal procedures to apply to any or all aliens who have not been admitted or paroled into the United States and who have not affirmatively shown to the satisfaction of an immigration officer that they have been physically present in the United States continuously for two years immediately prior to this determination. §235
In late 2005, Secretary Chertoff used this authority to expand expedited removal to apply to non‐Mexicans apprehended within 100 miles of the U.S.‐Mexico border who cannot prove that they have been continuously present for 14 days. The fact that our Federal court system is clogged with appeals of removal orders ‐‐ the number of cases filed in Federal court rose from just over 2,000 in 1994 to more than 14,500 in 2004 – and the fact that the illegal alien population in the United States continues to grow would suggest that expedited removal needs to be expanded to the full extent authorized by law.
States and localities may not adopt policies, formal or informal, that prohibit employees from communicating with DHS regarding the immigration status of individuals (sanctuary policies). §642 of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (P.L. 104‐208)
Neither of the two sanctuary states—Maine and New Mexico—nor any of the multitude of sanctuary cities has been challenged by DHS or DOJ for violating this provision. Soon after this law passed, the City of New York challenged this provision in court at the direction of then‐Mayor Giuliani and the court upheld the law and ordered the City to rescind its sanctuary policy; instead, Mayor Giuliani modified the sanctuary policy slightly, but the Federal Government has not challenged it.
DHS and the State Department are required to ensure that all visas and other travel and entry documents issued after October 26, 2004, are machine‐readable and tamper‐resistant and use biometric identifiers. §303 of the Enhanced Border Security and Visa Entry Reform Act of 2002 (P.L. 107‐173)
DHS still issues easily counterfeited temporary cards until a more secure card is mailed to the alien.

Have you heard about the madness in Arizona?
Local lawmakers in this state, several of whose officials have been walking a tightrope of civil rights violations lately, have approved one of the most troubling measures this country has seen in some time. The bill makes it a crime to be an undocumented immigrant in Arizona and requires law enforcement officers who have a “reasonable suspicion” that someone is in the state illegally to determine that person’s immigration status.
Yes that’s right. They can randomly subject someone to an immigration status check, even without that person having possibly violated any laws. The measure also allows citizens to sue a city, town, or county if they believe a law enforcement agency is failing to enforce this law.
So what does all this mean? Pretty much that if you “look” undocumented in Arizona, you are subject to arrest and may be stopped for no other legal reason.
The National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the largest national Latino civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States, just released a statement condemning the anti-immigrant bill in which NCLR President and CEO Janet Murguía commented, “This bill is an affront to civil rights and it will make all Latinos suspect in their own communities, regardless of their immigration status. We’ve seen horrendous abuses through the 287(g) program and know what the reality of such measures is.”
Now we need your help telling Arizona Governor Jan Brewer to veto this bill that would lead to racial profiling and discrimination.
Tell Governor Brewer that this bill is not about public safety or solutions to our broken immigration system; this is about playing for cheap political points without regard to consequences for communities and taxpayers.

Obama clearly supports the Federal Laws regarding legal immigration. Obama clearly supports the rule of law regarding illegal persons of ANY nation that has overstayed their visas or crossed the boarders without declaring themselves. As a citizen of the US, I will easily concede this for you liberals. Here is the issue that AZ, citizens, and even legal immigrants see: Obama, Bush, and both Dem and Rep senators also clearly support a Federal government of willful ignorance of who is in this country illegally. They (being Obama, Bush, et all)do not wish to dedicate the manpower, national resources, time, or process to actually carry out the Federal laws that have been on the books for decades. This total inaction by our federal government has had dangerous consequences for our legal and natural born citizens on our southern boarders, and within our inner cities. This is the issue, plain and simple. AZ has copied the Federal laws regarding immigration and illegal persons, removed "Federal authorities shall" and inserted "State authorities shall", and have taken matters into their own hands to protect themselves. Now, let me school you a bit on what is going on. States are now breaking away from our non-representing representatives, and asserting their rights to self govern in the absence of government. The Feds cannot cherry pick which laws they will and will not enforce, and tell the states to do the same, "or else". Another civil war is brewing. The first civil war regardless of your stance on slavery or otherwise, was about states being able to assert their state rights and laws. The second civil war that is in progress is about the same thing – self determination by the majority of people state by state – in other words, local. Rights are not about the minority, but about the rule of the majority.
Now, those in this country legally are Federally required to carry their papers with them, and if they are picked up for crimes or suspicion of crimes, must produce those legal documents. This has always been, but not always enforced, as an accommodation. Times have changed and now we have gang members, thieves, coyotes, drug dealers, kidnappers, and terrorists crossing our boarders en mass and killing/kidnapping American citizens at an alarming rate. This is the byproduct of Federal inaction and accommodation. This must cease. It is no longer peace and love. Latin America is on fire. There have been 22,000 drug related murders in Mexico this year alone. It is spilling over the boarder by Latinos, not by marauding Scandinavians. So, if you want to point out this is about race, I'm fine with that – call me a racist – It really has zero effect on either me, or the facts of the matter, because it plainly "is what it is". As a Caucasian, I would happily carry a Federal biometric card to prove who I am, and I am willing to produce the card anytime upon request – same as a Social Security card, a driver's license, or a Birth Certificate when applying for a Passport. Any other argument is spiciest, at best. My hope is that all states rise up and adopt the AZ model, except maybe California. All illegals can move there and further erode the culture and safety of the citizens.
