this was not a debate. more of a yelling match of two children. we need to challenge the precedence that all people born in the united states is a citizen. in fact only persons born to united states citizens and united states american indians that are born in the united states are automatically citizens. before 1950 tribal members were not citizens nor were we allowed to vote or hold public office. the misinterpretation of the 14th amendment is the problem. of course upholding the law helps to tell if it is effective and that has not been done from the get go. its like replacing the motor in a new car that no one has tried to start because it has never ran.
