The more the Congress debauches the dollar the higher oil prices and all the rest will go. Oil prices are flat relative to gold.
The government makes three trillion dollars of tax money, when you count fuel tax, road tax, income tax,excise tax,etc., off every part, of every step, and still want more.
TREASON should be charged against every one, not working to keep America free, in all steps through all governments!
And if these Execs lowered profits to 1 percent and cost all those pension funds billions of dollars, these same morons would be calling these people before them again to find out why they aren’t performing well enough to keep their Union Buddies Pensions stable!

The hypocrisy of these senators is amazing. While these five oil companies did report record profits, they are comparable with other industries at around 7% of revenues. The hypocrisy becomes evident when one understands that the Federal government collected about $28 Billion in income taxes from these same five oil companies in the same fiscal quarter that the companies reported $36 Billion in net profits. The federal government also took in another $6.3 Billion in federal excise taxes on the gasoline and diesel that was pumped during the same quarter. The corporations that find, refine, and distribute the fuel that we consume are evil, uncaring, devils that don’t care about the pain they are causing while stuffing their pockets with $36 billion. The government that collected $34.3 billion in taxes off the backs of hard working Americans while producing or providing very little in exchange is … benevolent? Virtuous? Hypocritical?
