Glenn Apologizes for Massa Interview: Sorry for Wasting Your Time, America

"I think I've wasted your time. I think this is the first time I have wasted an hour of your time and I apologize for that."

txFirehawk   March 9th, 2010 - 6:07 pm

After 45 min I kept wondering when Massa would drop a bombshell or at least more dirt or something but it never happened..

kirkcheated   March 9th, 2010 - 6:10 pm

Glenn is a good commentator/analyst, but he can’t interview worth a damn.

erp   March 9th, 2010 - 6:11 pm

First time I’ve ever listened to Beck and it was indeed a waste of time for Beck, but it was time well spent for Obama because Massa, who was remarkably well spoken and didn’t stray from the party line, played Beck like a Stradivarius making him look like an ill-prepared boob.

I’d love to know how much of our stimulus money that little creep Massa is taking home with him — judging from his merry smile, it must be considerable.

sam   March 9th, 2010 - 6:11 pm

yea serious… i was expecting a little more than everything i have already heard… either way, GLEN RULES!

eric   March 9th, 2010 - 6:11 pm

What a boring interview. The guy is shifty, and Beck should have called him on it.

Don't Tread On Me   March 9th, 2010 - 6:12 pm

No worries, Glenn- you have wasted far less of my time than many, and you have enriched my knowledge base far more than any of my college professors.
Looking forward to your next show!

anonymous   March 9th, 2010 - 6:12 pm

Wow! Great story!

JRinSC   March 9th, 2010 - 6:13 pm

I was so hopeful to hear some actual truth come out of Washington… I guess there is no hope for that anytime soon. Glenn, you didn’t waste our time, Massa did!

puck30   March 9th, 2010 - 6:13 pm

I feel sorry for poor Larry King, he’s got to do the follow up with this schlub.

PartyCrasher   March 9th, 2010 - 6:13 pm

Apology accepted, Beck. I would have watched your sorry arse show anyways.

paul   March 9th, 2010 - 6:13 pm

I knew this would happen, Glenn should have been more cautious about inviting him too quickly. Now Glenn gets beat up by Mahr, Stewart, and everyone at Msnbc.

kmichaels   March 9th, 2010 - 6:13 pm

I have no sympathy for Massa certainly. However, Rahm is a known arsehole and I think, just an evil guy. Gibbs would defend Obama regardless of truth, so he is pretty worthless. And Obama, Reid and Pelosi do certainly confirm that this is about saving political face and nothing more. The current democrat batch of leaders shows how low American politics and the MSM has really sunk.

Cynthia   March 9th, 2010 - 6:14 pm

Beck wastes everyone’s time – daily — as he makes up quotes and history — I keep expecting to hear he is interviewing the founders.

WTF Over?   March 9th, 2010 - 6:14 pm

Massa is right. Rahm is a pile of dung. Thanks for showing us what you do Glenn!

Joe Clay   March 9th, 2010 - 6:15 pm

I dont buy into Glenn Becks schtick anyways….hes a hysterical phantom of the opera newsman. Wheres my remote ::click::

Mike   March 9th, 2010 - 6:15 pm

A complete and utter waste of time – something happened with Massaa that he is still hidding. At least Glenn had the courage to apologize – that was awful!

freckleface   March 9th, 2010 - 6:15 pm

Just another lying Democrat.
That really WAS a waste of time!
I think you were had, Glenn.

Don't Tread On Me   March 9th, 2010 - 6:16 pm

Yea, thanks Glenn, for being smarter than a rocket scientist, and a window washer. Your tears are never a waste of my time. I LOVE Oprah.

Party Crasher   March 9th, 2010 - 6:16 pm

Apology accepted, Beck. I would have watched your sorry azz show anyways.

kidshare   March 9th, 2010 - 6:16 pm

I don’t think it was a waste of time. I loved the full hour of Massa blinking his eyes 100 times a minute. I was kinda wondering also why he wouldn’t be more specific about anything except tickling some other guy at a bachelor party. I’ve been to those…there wasn’t any tickling, not sure what sick people this guy hangs out with but I hope he does what he promised and “disappears.”

james   March 9th, 2010 - 6:16 pm

We’ll let this one slide Glenn ;)

VTlibertarian   March 9th, 2010 - 6:17 pm

Massa turned out to be another senate pin-head. Go figure.

dfcinca   March 9th, 2010 - 6:17 pm

I actually thought Glenn did a good job with the interview. We didn’t learn anything new about congress, the white house or corruption, but what we did get some good sound bites from Beck. The burning building analogy, the stand and fight analogy. It wasn’t a waste of my time at all ~ it was a full blown display of what kind of people are in Washington. Messa is just messier and less polished than the rest of them.

Jeff   March 9th, 2010 - 6:17 pm

The biggest bomb since Ishtar.

THE TRUTH   March 9th, 2010 - 6:18 pm

If Massas the kind of nut job that liberals are electing to Congress this country is in serious trouble.

DrRob   March 9th, 2010 - 6:19 pm

Don’t Tread On Me March 9th, 2010 – 6:12 pm..//

Nicely stated. There have been far more instances of absolute drivel on many other programs other than Mr. Beck’s/

john   March 9th, 2010 - 6:19 pm

I want more Rahm naked in the shower stories.

.

bilbiz   March 9th, 2010 - 6:20 pm

Can’t answer anything, specifically? You bet another shoe is going to drop. Massa’s behavior was typical of a man trapped like a rat. Don’t feel bad about one wasted hour, Glenn, the whole discussion was quite revealing.

Shelly B.   March 9th, 2010 - 6:20 pm

Glenn, I think you were set up. I think if you did deep enough you’ll find that Rahm paid Massa for coming on your show to make you look bad. Yeah, you were set up! But please keep on doing what you do. You are a public service.
Blessings.

Holly James   March 9th, 2010 - 6:20 pm

Glen it was not a waste of time. This just proves how crazy these people in Washington are I believe he was targeted and it is to early for him to gather his thoughts to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. I think they all are crazy and all need to go. Give the man a break. I am a conservative Rep. He is being treated as a whisle blower for tell the the true.

john wade   March 9th, 2010 - 6:20 pm

The representative was doing what he and many more members of Congress do very well; WASTE OUR TIME!

gold digger   March 9th, 2010 - 6:20 pm

I have only watched this clip. But from what I heard, he is STILL a typical democrat/libtard. Speaking in circles.
Truth be known, he probably had something to do with this entire ordeal.

Mary   March 9th, 2010 - 6:21 pm

what was that” CYA? Poor schmuck is just looking for his 15 minutes of fame because it didn’t happen in congress.

andyjaxon   March 9th, 2010 - 6:21 pm

Don’t worry about it, Glenn, it was worth one shot. They are too tarnished anyway, JUST KEEP TEACHING, KEEP TEACHING, KEEP TEACHING!!!

clarify   March 9th, 2010 - 6:21 pm

Massa was doing the shuffle. Did not give any specific answers and is not worth watching again unless anyone cares to watch a typical politician give non-answers. Beck was good in trying to get some red meat but Massa would not take the bait.

Gloria   March 9th, 2010 - 6:21 pm

I did not feel my hour was wasted. On the contrary, I felt compassion for your guest. He’s been through the fire, and will again and again until this is over. Glenn, you were a gracious host and it was a good program. Not wasted one bit. Actually it revealed even more dirt in Washington. Not specific like you wanted, but it was there between the lines non the less.
Gloria

Angry Xgen'er   March 9th, 2010 - 6:21 pm

Massa is no brilliant statesman that’s clear.

BHOShatOnUSAndSmiled   March 9th, 2010 - 6:21 pm

This guys thoughts are more scrambled than Biden’s. Here’s a tip, Glen: Democrats are full of crap. You can’t smell it so easy in some, and some you can’t get the smell off yourself if you get near them, but they are all full of crap nonetheless. It is always a waste of time to interview Democrats unless for entertainment. Massa is entertaining. Even if his lies have absolutely no basis in fact, the images he provokes are amusing. Biden is amusing too, a high class elitist stooge, also full of crap.

Nick   March 9th, 2010 - 6:23 pm

So this MASSA guy was who many people elected? No wonder NY State is a pathetic mess. The DNC needs to find candidates with some brains and class, because lately in NY it’s scandal after scandal. And forget blaming the republicans anymore people – it’s all democrats now and LOOK at the progress… keep looking…

Brad in Denver   March 9th, 2010 - 6:23 pm

Sounds to me like there is a lot more dirt on Massa and probably Glenn Beck than we know about…

Eileen for Freedom/Liberty   March 9th, 2010 - 6:23 pm

Glen strikes again!

Two down…one from each party…more to go!

Anyone else up for an interview with Glen!

Congratulations Glen for being the judge and jury for the American public…what would we do without you!

I stopped listening to Beck and switched over to Michael Savage and Alex Jones as they both provide much more accurate information.

Fedup   March 9th, 2010 - 6:23 pm

Great try Glenn. You cannot believe anything that comes out of Washington…then again…I guess you can believe that anything can come out of Washington! The challenge is finding the truth. Keep the pedal to the metal buddy. Seek, Knock and Open!

MissManners   March 9th, 2010 - 6:24 pm

Glenn, you’re the best!

maximinimus   March 9th, 2010 - 6:25 pm

Don’t beat yourself up Glenn. It could have easily have worked out very differently.
You gave him a chance which is more than many commentators on the right did. Your intentions were clear and noble for which we thank you !

Mike Kupchik   March 9th, 2010 - 6:25 pm

Glenn (and Andrew) never waste my time, and I thank them both for the educational experiences.

Mike   March 9th, 2010 - 6:25 pm

The fact that you are breathing at all is a waste of time.

shah   March 9th, 2010 - 6:25 pm

glenn you are a neocon and you keep trying to brainwash the public the time for a revolution is near what side will you be on you support the IMF and paying more taxes to big bank and support the federal reserve and you dont think 9/11 was a inside job you are a waste of time you brainwashed fool

nick   March 9th, 2010 - 6:26 pm

Was a waste of time…I was waiting for him to call the back up guest he mentioned

Eric Johnson   March 9th, 2010 - 6:26 pm

Beck needed to take control of the interview, and ask Massa “how has the White House and Nancy Pelosi threatened your family?”

OneOfWeThePeople   March 9th, 2010 - 6:26 pm

Massa did not give Glenn any new information. Glenn tried to drill down and get something specific.
Most of us realize that the specifics are the daily deals made between our folks in congress. Favor for favor is exchanged. The problem is that these favors wind up costing the taxpayer. The longer a person is in the congress the more power they gain, more favors are due to them from others, and the more dirt they have on the other guy etc, etc.. If you want something, you have to play the game!
I truly believe that TERM LIMITS would help with this problem.

Homeschool Mom   March 9th, 2010 - 6:27 pm

Glenn, It is probably good that Massa didn’t tell anymore Rahm stories. The one about a naked, angry Rahm is enough to give me nightmares for months to come. Uuugh! Naked Rahm, scary thoughts!

Zed   March 9th, 2010 - 6:28 pm

Massa’s a typical Liberal male – abusive, a liar, predator Homosexual, possibly a pederast, indecisive, spineless, a quitter, etc. etc. ad infinitum

John E   March 9th, 2010 - 6:28 pm

I agree with Glenn Beck on most things, and he has a great show, but he is a lousy interviewer. Worst job of interviewing I have ever seen by a big name tv guy. Sorry, Glenn, you really blew this one.

Renault Bordeaux   March 9th, 2010 - 6:28 pm

Massa reversed his opinion and modified his statements just enough so he was technically not lying. In my book, that was your typical politician’s behavior. It was a good reminder of what needs to be done in this country: eliminating the snakes in Congress.

TruthBeKnown   March 9th, 2010 - 6:28 pm

GLENN is not what Glenn appears either! http://republicbroadcasting.org/?p=7143 < Proof!

*********************************************************************************

Glen Beck GOT PUNKED …bwa.ha.ha.ha.ha.ha.

Masa promise the gang back at the whitehouse that he will do right by them , And man did he ever, He went on Foxnews and VOMIT on Beck and company.

The promise of loyalty to pull this stunt on beck by Masa , should be good enough to avoid any big hammer throw down by the whitehouse on ETHICS charges against him.

Oldbluesboy   March 9th, 2010 - 6:28 pm

It’s not either or when you listen to Beck, Rush, Levin, etc. You get more truth than not from any of them. They all look for the truth in different ways, so get what you can and be better for it. Glenn would be wasting our time if he didn’t try at all.

If you try, you might; if you don’t, you won’t.

michael   March 9th, 2010 - 6:29 pm

This is not the first time you have wasted an hour and I feel quite sure it will not be the last.

j hoover   March 9th, 2010 - 6:29 pm

Actually its the progressives that create their own history as they steadily march this country into a neo-fascist state

Jay   March 9th, 2010 - 6:29 pm

Cynthia must not be very educated. As an educated man who knows how to read, I can say that I have NEVER heard Glenn make up a historical fact. In reality, he has brought forward facts that typically are not known by the typical great unwashed.

Scott N TX   March 9th, 2010 - 6:29 pm

The only reason this guy opposed the healthcare bill is cause it wasn’t far enough left to suit him. Obama is too far to the right in his opinion. This guy is nothing to cheer about.

CTSadler   March 9th, 2010 - 6:29 pm

Glenn Beck is a mouth breathing, time wasting, retard.

Jerry   March 9th, 2010 - 6:30 pm

Cynthia, Beck doesn’t make up quotes, he SHOWS VIDEOTAPE of these idiots/socialists/communists/radicals [pick any one or combination] ACTUALLY SAYING stupid/evil/unbelieveable things!!

I apologize for Cynthia for making up false accusations against Beck.

First of many to come   March 9th, 2010 - 6:31 pm

Oh you’ll be saying “sorry america” over and over once your lunatic fringe starts going off for real glenn.

matt22   March 9th, 2010 - 6:31 pm

somebody said that Massa is going to be on Larry King later on.. i really didn’t have any idea that Larry King was still on CNN. thought he retired a few years ago..they had a lot of guest hosts filling in.. anyway, glad to hear that he’s still alive! go get ‘em tonite, Larry. you get Glenn Beck’s sloppy seconds.

LibNOTsr   March 9th, 2010 - 6:31 pm

After watching the interview for the first 15 minutes I got the distinct feeling that Glenn would be going in circles with Mr. Massa.

Massa’s a phony and I don’t think he realizes how much of a fake he is….Washington apparently has that effect on people. Unfortunately, his family will bear the brunt of his idiocy.

Brent Lewis   March 9th, 2010 - 6:31 pm

Glenn, at least you have the honesty and the intellect to admit when you you’ve been had. And the humility to apologize to your audience. Class pure and simple. Now for Cynthia who posted that Glenn makes things up, come on Cynthie lets not make accusations without qualifiers. Give us an example of Glenn Beck making up history etc… otherwise you can take your complaints back to the 1st grade school ground of emotion driven drivel where the knuckle dragging trolls of your ilk live and breath daily.

Tasha   March 9th, 2010 - 6:33 pm

I’ve been entertained and enlightened.

Today I was bored.

It’s one hour.

Apology accepted, no biggie.

Hannity wastes an hour every day and never apologizes for it.

See ya tomorrow, same time, same channel where I’ll learn more from you than any other watcher on the wall.

Love ya man.

Flip   March 9th, 2010 - 6:33 pm

After 5 minutes you can tell Masa is a self-evident nut job. What is telling is that Rahm apparently felt compelled to argue /waste his time on a nut job multiple times. Can’t he tell?

An American Mom   March 9th, 2010 - 6:33 pm

Massa just proves what is wrong in Washington! Government doesn’t care about the American people, only care about their own self interest! I found him an insult to my intelligence!

KC   March 9th, 2010 - 6:33 pm

Glenn–Your effort was worth the try with Massa–he just doesnt have the spine for exposing the corruption. Then again, I have never walked a mile in his shoes–cancer, 30 years in politics…I might be worn out too. So although it was a waste—I would watch you interview a turtle-you are great. No apologies necessary.

Angry   March 9th, 2010 - 6:33 pm

Former Republican Eric Massa was never a true Democrat.

Pedro   March 9th, 2010 - 6:34 pm

Massa’s a politician’s politician. Talked for an hour and didn’t say a thing. Hard to believe that he resigned from a position that he is so obviously well qualified for.

In the imortal words of our old friend Bugs Bunny…”What a maroon”!!!!!!!

younever-go-against-the-most-powerful-man-in-the-world   March 9th, 2010 - 6:34 pm

Masa made a big big mistake by taking on the BIG BOYS in the whitehouse.he forgot his position and who he was.

You never offend the GODFATHER(obama) and his LIEUTENANTS.

Mia   March 9th, 2010 - 6:34 pm

You didn’t waste our time Glenn. It’s the congressman who is a waste. You need a flowchart to follow him.
But actually it was quite revealing. And you were gracious at the end.

Keep up the good work!

Rahm Emanuel   March 9th, 2010 - 6:34 pm

Thanks for not spilling the beans about my small pecker, Massa. I owe you one.

Dillard J   March 9th, 2010 - 6:34 pm

Why is Rahm showering with Massa? I Was mistaken, I thought the saying was ” I will watch your back and you will watch” mine.

Nitehawk   March 9th, 2010 - 6:34 pm

Massa was telling us of the problem…. It goes back to political bosses dictating how to steer the legislation… Both parties. I like Glenn Beck but he was looking for the corpse the crime some place to attack and expose. Massa although not clear was trying to tell us the whole system is screwed.
every day we need to confront politicians …ALL politiciand hold their feet to the fire and make them work for the country.
Oh and by the way go rent “Mr. Smith goes to Washington.” It’s the movies imitating life.

VaryG   March 9th, 2010 - 6:36 pm

I’m a big fan of you Glenn, but I’m not impressed with how you handled the interview. I tend to believe Massa. You were trying too hard to find a silver bullet to prove your point. I can tell the White House is lying by how Gibbs speaks about Massa. The fact you apologized itself is self-serving.

Muffy Tupperman   March 9th, 2010 - 6:36 pm

http://911essentials.com says Glennda Beck is barely a mammal.

Let’s have some content folks.

Breirbart!

EzFix   March 9th, 2010 - 6:36 pm

I could tell Glenn was exasperated by the lack of progress in the conversation. Anyone else would have been delighted to just have this guy on their show, but not Glenn; his apology shows he’s all about substance and not at all about hype and publicity. His program is easily becoming the only one out there where if you miss it, you’ll actually miss out on something.

Jane in St. Louis   March 9th, 2010 - 6:37 pm

We all felt your frustration, Glenn. But you didn’t waste our time….you’ve presented another piece of the puzzle to confirm that Washington is broken and that the majority of clowns up on Capitol Hill really aren’t our best and brightest – how did this guy get elected??? He couldn’t string together any coherent thoughts.

earthman92   March 9th, 2010 - 6:37 pm

Beck is too ignorant to recognize his own liberalism…

DallasConvertible   March 9th, 2010 - 6:37 pm

Massa is suffering from depression. On the radio show he was manic. He blasted away, going over the top. Today, on Beck’s show, he was deflated and not willing to dig a deeper hole for fear there would be no end to the media frenzy. Maybe tomorrow he’ll feel like throwing more fuel on the fire. It’s really quite sad, I pity him and his family.

howard   March 9th, 2010 - 6:38 pm

Glen,

I accept your apology. It was a complete waste of my time and in fact, I altered my schedule to watch your show at 5. But that is OK. You tried. You thought the piece of slime might actually give us a few insights into the corruption in Washington like he insinuated he would.

The creeps in Washington waste far more of our time hour by hour, each and every day. You at least, tried to do something for us. I’m not sure what he thinks he gained by going on and adding basically, nothing.

fel121   March 9th, 2010 - 6:38 pm

I am astounded at the complete and total nitwits posting here…
Learned more from Glenn Beck than your college professor…
Your show is better than most…
This is a former drugged up morning Zoo radio guy, and this is the pinnacle of journalism in your tiny pea brained minds.

You people live truly; truly, pathetic ill-informed lives of Madison Avenue, Disney made tripe. You are all the personification of the term, “low information voter”.

Michelle   March 9th, 2010 - 6:38 pm

So sad. Just more confirmation of the crap that comes out of D.C. The machine is huge. Thanks for the effort. This little light at the end of the tunnel was just Amtrak….and this too shall pass…..

buckrol   March 9th, 2010 - 6:38 pm

People call Glenn an extremist, and he calls it straighter than anybody out there. They’ve clearly never watched his show. Is the U.S. Constitution “extreme?”

Name one.

Kathy   March 9th, 2010 - 6:39 pm

You waste my time every time you’re on the air, Glenn. Of course your entertainment value is much higher than that has-been Rush, though, so you’re forgiven.

Rob   March 9th, 2010 - 6:39 pm

I think that this is a great example of Glenn Beck’s judgment in general. And no, it is not the first time he has wasted an hour of his viewer’s time.

This Massa guy is pretty strange:

First he quits because of cancer.

Second he quits because of a sexual harassment issue.

Third now he is quitting because someone played hardball with him.

Massa needs to get his story straight and then decide why he is leaving – either he has cancer, he likes playing with guys, or he can’t handle the heat in D.C. – either way – just leave already.

bilbiz   March 9th, 2010 - 6:39 pm

Don’t you people who send comments ever READ what you’re sending???? Are you that intent on being the next comment? Some of you people sound like illiterates.

Sick Twisted Freak   March 9th, 2010 - 6:40 pm

Completely agree with Fedup.

Rubicon Cross   March 9th, 2010 - 6:40 pm

I felt sorry for Massa. While I do believe him, he is obviously under so much stress that he is not able to think straight. He rambled, didn’t respond well to questions and really seem rattled. With that said, if there was a time for Beck to stop being silly and uber-sarcastic. This was it. Massa obviously couldn’t folow Glenn’s wit. That didn’t help – it just made him more confused and kept the truth from getting out. It was there, but never made it out. Beck could have done a much better job with this interview. It reminded me of the time he wasted with Sarah Palin – when for 20 minutes he kept saying “but, can I trust you?”.
