Keith Olbermann Claims ‘Cold-Blooded Killers’ Did Not Refer to US Troops

"'Cold blooded killers' referred not to them but rather to those former and current members of Mr. Bush's administration and Pentagon who so irresponsibly released the hounds of war and may indeed someday face war crimes trials." Olbermann's original "Special Comment" can be seen here.

Do you remeber the Dennis Leary song …
“I’m an A$$h*le”..thanks for singing a few bars Keith.

I agree with the Dude,…he is the definition of,…
TOOL.

Andrew Alley   May 20th, 2008 - 1:50 am

Olberman is an absolute disgusting disgrace – He is hopelessly liberal and clueless as to the ways of the world. As a marine I am thankful each day that he is not in command of any of us and that his positions are relugated to the asheap of history.

His attempt to justify his bilge are a pathetic. I am thankful that his audience is as small as his mind.

speed   May 20th, 2008 - 3:00 am

Duh, which way did he go, which way did he go?
Bush is on my brain always. I am infatuated in him.
Olblaman is in love with ignorance

Ted Williams Head   May 20th, 2008 - 4:09 am

“Fox News is more dangerous than Al Queda.”

He said it last year in a Playboy interview.

W. Lee   May 20th, 2008 - 6:20 am

The military outsources security and many other jobs due to budget cuts made all through the mid 90,s thanks to the Bill Clinton and the lefty Dems.

Then the pukes have the nerve to whine about Blackwater and so called “merceranries.”

The US military along with other brave Americans are winning this war little by little and the leftwing socialist can’t stand that fact.

dswilli   May 20th, 2008 - 6:22 am

F Olbermann, total lack of credibility.

Dean   May 20th, 2008 - 6:28 am

Mr. Olberman said ‘Mr. Bush’ 9 times in that segment…never ‘President Bush’. You may not agree with his policies (I sure don’t agree with everything he has done), but be mature and show the respect that you should. I say ‘President Clinton’ and ‘President Carter’ because it’s the right thing to do. Watch out Keith, your unprofessionalism is showing!

the Dude   May 20th, 2008 - 8:08 am

This guy is such a tool. Please someone put him on trial for treason.

Dick Steele   May 20th, 2008 - 8:24 am

Olbermann doesn’t know when to quit.
His cries of “waaaah waaaah, it’s all the right wing bloggers fault!”, didn’t even convince him, otherwise this lunatic would not have apologized in the first place.

Yelena   May 20th, 2008 - 8:45 am

what a wind bag!

Ozhole   May 20th, 2008 - 8:47 am

Olberman, NBC and alike are simply lacking in political and social responsibility. They’ve been twisting and contorting every aspect of our personal and civial liberties. They don’t deserve our respect nor our acknowledgement. It’s too bad that as much as I try to avoid these deceivers they still creep into my life. Please, keep your derivatives to yourself and they us alone.

Woody   May 20th, 2008 - 9:10 am

I think Dean makes an excellent point.

MG   May 20th, 2008 - 9:40 am

“are you making a million a year like the owner of blackwater”?, dahh, dahhh, dahh, what the hell does that have to do with anything, instead of sitting around discussing how much money people make, read a damm book or something, what a mental midget

D BIRD   May 20th, 2008 - 9:43 am

Olberman and PMSNBC are a pair to draw too. Why would anyone continue to watch/listen to this dribble. ESPN was wise to let someone with his mental disorder go to a place where he fits in ala PMSNBC

Jack Lee   May 20th, 2008 - 9:52 am

“War Crimes Trials”.

Yeah, right Keith. Man, that is laughable! What part of “Congressional Authorization” did you miss?

Dun-bar   May 20th, 2008 - 10:30 am

Olberdung is just about the most twisted, hate-filled leftist SOB on the television. And that’s pretty much the case with most leftists in our political discourse today. You look and listen to Olberdung and his fellow jackasses and its easy to detect far more hatred coming from them than what they say comes out of the right. And to suggest that Mark Levin or anyone else on the right hates the troops, and you look into that stupid piss-brain’s eyes when he says it, its unmistakable the hatred and evil twisted intent that comes shooting out of them.

Josh   May 20th, 2008 - 10:46 am

This is why this guy gets blown out every single night by Fox News. Most democrats fail to call President Bush the president. Their lack of honor due to a position will eventually hurt them. I don’t agree with everything the president does, but I still honor him, something we are all supposed to do.

Jay   May 20th, 2008 - 10:48 am

Why can’t he just stand by his statement. As pathetic as it is, at least he is honest and speaks his foolish truth.

I agree he is a mental midget, but what would you expect from a blame America first liberal. Wrong nearly 100% of the time.

Red State   May 20th, 2008 - 10:57 am

This entire episode with the Iraq war has taught me one thing I never knew about liberals. They are the most rabidly racist group among us. We liberate a country with millions of people and police it for 4 years with the loss of less than 5000 troops and the libs label it a failure, a mess, our leaders criminals. The only possible conclusion one can come to is that they think freedom and democracy are only for white europeans, no one else. Elitist racists, one and all. With all the stupidity and selfishness coming from the left our country is doomed. If we cannot make some sacrifice to help others achieve freedom, we certainly aren’t deserving of it ourselves. Shame on us to sit here fat and happy and not try to help others who aren’t so fortunate. Life isn’t so easy in other parts of the world.

Bam Bam   May 20th, 2008 - 11:34 am

Sean, what ratings…the man is a bottom feeder just like Mathews…that is why they are at the bottom of the cable news ratings.

Chuck in Las Vegas   May 20th, 2008 - 11:34 am

I saw Olberman’s original rant. He meant the troops. Now he wants to lie his way out of it.

Please note all the Newsweek people on MSNBC. newsweek just laid off about 100 employees. MSNBC and Newsweek, two America hating news sources that are going down the tubes.

Rose   May 20th, 2008 - 11:53 am

It’s OK, Keith.

Lot’s of people aren’t aware of the mercenaries hired by the Bush Regime, the crimes they commit, or that they make ten times the money that the troops make. Oh, or that often U.S. troops are ordered around by Blackwater mercenaries, simply because a young troop can easily mistake an older mercenary for someone who cares or knows more than they do.

Great work, Blackwater! Keith is a patriot.

Even His Pencils Are A Joke!   May 20th, 2008 - 12:47 pm

At about 3:17 in the clip, Olbermann says “I t imagine that kind of evil knee-jerk reflex…” OH…MY…GOD! This is the nexus of the hypocrisy of Olbermann and everything he represents! And he proves it by using the same modus operandus from his very shallow bg of tricks: by ultimately using his very ineffective and small bully pulpit to conclude with a personal attack on people whose relative prominence he is either jealous of or who he hates with a passion. This nightly “performance” is not even distantly related to news or objectivity, and the mere fact that Olbermann is constantly being criticized by an ever-growing part of the spectrum of news crtics and reviewers proves that to video clowns and narcissists like that sophomore Olbermann and his political tag-team blowhard butt buddy Chris Matthews, this has never been about objective journalism. It’s only about the perceived power of persuasion, to get weak-minded potential viewers and voters to buy into their beliefs and to try desperately to boost their awful viewership number at the same time. They never understand that intelligent and discerning people will NEVER subscribe to information that they find so clearly untrustworthy, just like the edited NBC report on the president the other day! Do the critics of Fox News STILL not understand why so many people, including more Democrat viewers than any other cable news outlet, choose to trust Fox News? It’s because of the well earned lack of trust that clowns like these dudes at MSNBC have engendered in everyone! Shame on their management, but their viewership and their stocks are the perfect indicators! Obermann, always the wannabe “newsman”, can always throw another one of his Letterman-plagiarized pencils at the camera if people don’t buy his “now I’m actually being serious” segment this time around. And you wonder why American education is the laughing stock of the world?!?

Lonewolf   May 20th, 2008 - 1:06 pm

Olberman is such a lying hating dork. He has as much credibility as a State owned Chinese News Station along with some of the lowest ratings on Cable News.

Dave   May 20th, 2008 - 1:14 pm

http://www.breitbart.tv/?p=98493&comments=1

I’m sorry guys, I watched the vid and it seems he is talking about blackwater. Clearly he needs a lot more reverence towards our good soldiers, but we need to be honest with ourselves on every front.

I love you guys, keep up the good work out there!

Steve T   May 20th, 2008 - 1:38 pm

The fact Bush felt he needed to use a mercernary group like Blackwater to supplement the boots on the ground is an insult to our soldiers.
The reckless way in which Blackwater has conducted its business makes its more dangerous for our soldiers.
As for “Congressional Authorization,” it was acquired from Congress but only after a series of deceptions.
I think its funny that Olberman points out the patriotic hypocrisy of the Right Wingers. It is those who yell their patriotism the loudest that I fear many times. The policies professed by many of that ilk are not of an America I want to live in.

They are usually the first ones to say “America: Love It or Leave It.”
What I hear them saying is: “America: My Way or the Highway.”

I have no use for the extreme interests in this country, whether they are from the right or the far left.
Give America back to the reasonable, middle-range folks who have no problem working with both ends toward real solutions.
The extremists day has come!!!!!! America will go back to those who know what reason really means.

timr1271   May 20th, 2008 - 2:24 pm

What a moron.
What cold-blooded killers did Bush unleash? Last time I checked, it was the US military who is fighting the wars. But…it’s not them. Mr. Olbermann loves them. Of course he ignores the fact that so many liberals fail to recognize…that every single man and woman serving and fighting in Iraq today is doing so because they CHOOSE to! We’ve been in Iraq for over 5 years now. Standard military enlistments are 4 years. DO THE MATH! The officers could have resigned their commissions and the enlisted did not need to re-enlist. Not only that, but look at how many members have joined since we went into Iraq. They have CHOSEN to serve, knowing full well that they most likely would see time in Iraq. We don’t have a draft (even if we did, there are ways to get around it…just ask Slick Willie!)…Bush didn’t force any of them to be there. No one forced the people from Blackwater and other companies to go to Iraq – they all volunteered to go!
Olbermann’s comments were aimed at none other than our military people. Liberals like him will not be happy until the only mission our military has is to plant flowers and sit around singing Kum Ba Ya. Olbermann isn’t even man enough to stand up and admit that he chose his words poorly or that he truly despises the US military. Instead, he tries to place the blame firmly on conservative talkers and bloggers. Pathetic…

D.R. King   May 20th, 2008 - 2:39 pm

Read a lengthy anniversary article on ESPN it was near unanimous, according to the ESPN broadcasters they interviewed, that KO is a tool and all were happy when he departed. NBC execs should know I NEVER watch NBC’s Sunday Night Football pre-game show because of this wind bag. Give me those lowly ESPN commentators.

AbuBakerSmith   May 20th, 2008 - 2:48 pm

Ayman AlZawahiri thinks Olbermann is a great reporter. They take some of his speeches and subtitle them to motivate Mujahadeen Warriors fighting the same Bush Crusader Enemy Olbermann is fighting….

Chris Matthews   May 20th, 2008 - 2:49 pm

Usually the comments aren’t this one sided but it seems unanimous that Keith – you’re so out of line. You blame everything on Bush but never realize how much of the blame should be on you, or more specifically you media types who sit back in the comfort of their $1M annual salary get to sit back at a job with perks while troops are in harms way. Why don’t you trade places with them for one day since most people wouldn’t mind seeing you on the front lines. At ESPN you couldn’t do sports well and now at MSNBC you can’t do news or analysis well. Even if you’re not a Bush fan, why blame him for all that’s going on…what about you and the viewership you drive towards hate – isn’t that just as bad ?

At least on my low rated show, I tell the viewers I’m supporting Obama.

Also tell me the Fed Reserve and its inner enclave of bankers and money grubbers isn’t to blame for the larger economic mess we find ourselves in and will be in for several decades now as we witness the demise of the once powerful dollar ?

Cyn   May 20th, 2008 - 3:26 pm

This guy is not stable! Certainly does not need to be on TV/cable..Where did you dig him up?

Wicky   May 20th, 2008 - 3:35 pm

Don’t you all see how YOU have been betrayed by Cheney’s brigade. This regime has robbed and pillaged our country and suckered you into cheering them on. What GOOD has happened for you in the last 7 years??? Are you making $100 mil a year like the owner of Blackwater?? Just wondering???

Beneteau   May 20th, 2008 - 4:47 pm

KO, you can only try to talk your way out of it! You are an angry, unaccomplished talking head. Your ability to attract only a small audience has left you with a disgruntled attitude. I pitty you.

Mr. Olberman is a breath of fresh air compared to other cable knews programs. His ratings are not correct they are actually better than what is published. I worked in the rating biz and i know how numbers can be distorted. I always have his program on in my Ice Cream Shop in the evening. Many people like to sit down and watch Mr olberman while they eat ice cream. The favorite flavors sold durng his show is Rocky Road, Pistachiao, and Full O Nuts. Mr Olberman is not owned by the rich Repub. so he speaks the truth.

RichC   May 20th, 2008 - 6:43 pm

One doesn’t have to see alot of Olberman to know where he’s coming from. Why shouldn’t anyone conclude that his statements meant what he now says they didn’t. If he really cares, he’d simply take the time to make sure things get said correctly. He’s using the troops to fight his own private, petty wars. If he has any love for them, it is nothing compared to the love he seems to have for himself.

tduck   May 20th, 2008 - 6:43 pm

…he looks like a mannequin and makes less sense.
…he and his boyfriend , Chris Matthews should both go away .
…wait , they did , they’re on MSNBC.

Sean   May 20th, 2008 - 6:53 pm

The endgame is about ratings. Olberman, disgusting as he is, meerely puts on his spectacle for ratings.

peter c   May 20th, 2008 - 7:02 pm

He meant the troops! He has called the troops murderers many times as has Mathews and Mika.He is trying to back down because Obama’s people probably told him to as they tell all of NBC and MSLSD to do what they want.
This guy needs to have a Marine take him to the woodshed and beat the crap out of him. And besides myself..I know many who would love the job.He has been spewing hate for years. He has been lying and twisting the truth and hating Christianity for years. He’s is not about political discourse…he is about HATE! I can’t wait to watch him have a stroke while crying when McCain wins in a landslide.

Joe D.   May 20th, 2008 - 7:05 pm

Mr. Olberman is an outright Marxist, along with Obama. But, don’t underestimate the impact he has on the public. We Conservatives need to keep rebutting him every time he says something misleading. Many thanks to all of you who are “fighting the good fight” both at home and abroad! [:)

Agent Of Denial   May 20th, 2008 - 7:55 pm

Dear Flyoverman.

I did not call you stupid; I implied that you are a victim of propaganda, brain-washed. The proof is in the pudding. We don’t need to lie; that is the domain of the neo-conistic lunatic fringe.

First, the Bush lies. I can list dozens but I’ll limit it to two: WMDs and yellow cake from Niger. Oh yea, don’t forget “Mission Accomplished.”

Because of his ineptitude, Bush has the lowest rating than any president in HISTORY. FACT. Significant numbers of senior military brass serving in the Iraqi theater have retired due to Bush’s policies. FACT. Bush mercenaries (Blackwater) and and Halburton are killing innocent Iraqi’s or profiteering on the war. FACT. Every day Republicans are changing parties and are voting in record numbers for Clinton and Obama. FACT. Republican strongholds are loosing their senate seats all across the nation. FACT. The economy is in shambles, unemployment is rising, veterans are loosing benefits, etc, etc. The list goes on. These aren’t lies or fabrication. You just refuse to acknowledge them. FACT.

Hell, the Republicans can’t even put up a decent candidate, they had to resort to McCain because the rest of the bozos were unacceptable to America at large.

You can huff and puff, call us traitors, commies, pinko’s, even liberals. The fact is America has had enough. People like Olbermann are getting air time, Moveon.org, Daily Kos, Huffington Post, MSNBC are gaining in popularity because people are tired of the barrage of deceit spewing forth from Fox, Rush, Colter, Hannity and Savage. Like it or not, Liberal Political Theater has learn its lessons from the right-lunatic fringe and are now speaking up.

[...] that his words are subject to misinterpretation, Bush’s are not.  ”Cold-blooded killers” unleashed upon America by [...]

dmc in dc   May 20th, 2008 - 8:36 pm

Quick thinking KO! trying to make me believe you were not referring to the troops. Are you kidding?, of course you were! You, your show ratings, and your network, are all “America Haters” You are all pathetic!

Agent of Denial   May 20th, 2008 - 8:38 pm

Oh shame on KO! He rubbed my face in the stinking lies the Bush administration has dragged me through and I am pissed and aggrieved because truth hurts.

Oh shame on KO! He said my president was the leader of a murderous cabal who should be prosecuted for war crimes. Since I am blind to seeing these crimes, KO lied.

Oh shame on KO! How dare he invade the domain reserved for right wing prevaricators of truth and those whose voice I approve.

Oh shame on KO! I don’t like what he says and I can not refute his claims. Therefore, I will puff and thump my chest, make violent threats, attack his manhood and call him names. Ahh, I feel better now. That’ll show him.

Oh shame on KO! I will continue to believe he said our soldiers were to blame, even when he told me otherwise. I know he lies because the r-wing nut commentators told me it was true. I hear nothing else.

No matter what happens, Bush is MY president, he can do no wrong. I am a loyal brain-washed American, goose-stepping my way into hell as the rest of America tries to climb out of the darkness of hate and fear my president has thrown America.

Flyoverman   May 20th, 2008 - 10:19 pm

Agent of Denial May 20th, 2008 – 8:38 pm

The radical Left cannot win the debate on US actions in the Mideast, so they resort to making charges of lying, illegal war, war crimes, cold-blooded killers, etc. etc. etc. and calling pople with my position stupid. I knew on September 12, 2001 we had no choice but to invade Iraq. Thatwas not difficult to conclude.

The Left cannot win their case in the marketplace of ideas so in their anger, hatred, and frustration nonsense comes spewing out. We do not have to prove a negative, just because some idiot like Obermann makes a charge. We have no obligation to prove a negative.

On the other hand, if KO wants to charge that someone committed war crimes he’d best have some evidence that will stand up in a court of law. Rumor, innuendo, MoveOn.org, The Daily Kos, or some idiot on YouTube does not constitute evidence.

If people like Obermann cannot back up what they charge with evidence, they need to shut up, get off the air, and make room for a real journalist instead of some cast off sports talking head.

AbuBajkerSmith   May 20th, 2008 - 10:21 pm

Mr Olberman is provide the Mujahadeen with much footage to use in recruiting good honest people to fight against BUSH’s Crusader Army. Why don’t you people appreciate what he is doing for the world and the establishment of True World Peace through ISLAM.

Thank God I don’t have cable.

Scott Barber   May 21st, 2008 - 3:15 pm

Mr. Olberman and NBC both are so far left that they are beyond the realm of reason. Mr. Olberman works for the network that is owned by the company (GE) that continues to sell important technology and products to Iran through it’s European subsidiaries. Where is his outrage over this fact? Does he support the fact that his parent company supplies the regime which is openly responsible for IEDs that have killed so many of our soldiers. Could it be that his paycheck is more important to him than addressing this disgraceful fact? This man, this network, and General Electric all deserve to be marginalized by all fair minded Americans by our refusing to watch them or buy their products any longer.
