This clip will follow the glib updates on Hillary and Obama during the DBM newscasts tonight… GUARANTEED!

The thing about McCain is that he is an HONEST man, even if it means flat out admitting a mistake. This is different than Hillary “The Liar’s Liar” Clinton and Barack “The Great Deflector” Obama.

I remember the debates on declaring a holiday for MLK. The only opponenents of it were so because of the costs associated with it and the fact that he wasn’t a US President. Because if you want to make a holiday for every great American, there wouldn’t be any work days in the year. It had nothing to do with MLK being Black, as all of the people attending this speech feel.

I have no real qualm with McCain in general, but if what we have here is any reflection of the full address, I’d say he deserved to be heckled (though it also sounds like he’s getting at least as much support as condemnation from the crowd). What a condescending tone of voice and a weak argument on his own behalf. Supporting Faubus in ‘57 and then voicing unequivocal condemnation of Birmingham ‘63 is “waiting too long to do the right thing.” Dissing MLK in the 1980s and then sounding like a whiny little apologetic girl about it 25 years later is opportunistic. I would expect more from a war hero.

[...] to cut to the speech. I’m sure there will be video of the speech available soon. Update: Here’s a link to the video. Posted by Tom Elia in Politics at 10:54 | Comments (2) | Trackbacks [...]

McCain is a shockingly honest man. He’s such a breath of fresh air. Unlike Hillary and Obama who are constantly getting caught in lies and having to make excuses for them.

I’ve seen better heckling at little league games.

JWL   April 4th, 2008 - 11:28 pm

@jonathan – I’m not a big McC fan but I did watch most of his speech, that which was televised at least, and the heckling tapered off further on. As for his weak argument, I guess I don’t know what a “strong one” would have been. Granted, he didn’t express his original objections (too many federal holidays already) but I agree with PraiseAdonai in that what he did say came across as honest and sincere. Like I was taught and have taught my kids, everyone can make a mistake, own up to it, admit it, apologize, and move forward. Making excuses or lying about it just makes it worse.

McCain trying the suck up :D

Although McCain is more liberal about civil rights than the typical republican party fascists, Obama has the one second knock out punch on this one. McCain is lucky the hecklers showed up. Otherwise nobody would have showed up.

McCain is honest about errors he has made, whereas Hillary will create stories to her liking and Obama just doesn’t get it at all.Everything about barry is race motivated,he has no intention of bringing this country together,as evidenced by the racist way his campaign is being run.He is where he is because he is liberal.far left and black,if he was conservative like Mike Steele then he would be a sellout or uncle tom.The racism is in the way they treat their own race and quickly demonize anyone who disagrees with them.If a liberal is required to engage in honest debate it quickly goes to name-calling and hate-monger flame throwing speech. This dem party has no intention of bringing America together, rather keeping it divided and their special little minority groups on the hook for more gov. handouts. When will people wake up and realize the dem LEADERship, not the average joe,has no intention of resolving important issues, but rather keeping these issues around for every election cycle so they can tell us how hard they are fighting for us…BS.If barry or hillary would cut off the head of the snake..ie dean, dodd, kennedy, kerry, peolsi and reid and stand on their own they would be a shoe-in.these type depend on keeping people down to insure their re-election.Its time for a Labor party to organize and take care of the issues of working families , and middle-class tax payers who always get screwed when these morons say they want to help us.Help us be rid of more of OUR money so they can give it away to worthless causes and people to lazy to help themselves.I’m sure taking 10 billion from oil companies is going to lower my gas bill and I’m sure a 70 percent tax rate to pay for both their health care plans will be a boom for buisnessSomeone name me just 1 gov. agency that is underfunded and well run and shows either a profit or great results…doesn’t exist my friends and never will. The last thing these politicians are, is money managers, but they are going to tell every buisness in America how to do it right.Buisness has to have a product or service to sell, they don’t get to just take your money because it is law.Maybe its time WE,the voters, put them, both parties out of buisness, and took control back, the way it was intended.

MLK was a commie stooge that had sex whith prostitutes. If he wanted civil rights so bad he should have went back to Africa. Why wont they release his personal FBI file until 2027 or so? Could it be because there is information in there that would take the media driven luster off of your fake DR. King. MLK was a fraud, a plagerizer and an anti-american lefty idiot. He belongs in the dust bin of history. P.S there is no such thing as ” man made global warming.”

McCain is HONEST!! Honestly stupid that is!

Even G.W. Bush is not as profoundly ignorant as this old fool McCain.
