Mr. McCain,
The Dow is in free fall as you speak. The economy is in the tank and things look like they will get worse before they get better. A large segment of the population has just seen their retirement accounts take a horrific beating. In some cases people who were about to retire can no longer do so. Do you have any ideas on how to address this? How does your party’s traditional laise faire policy towards business reconcile with the obvious need to have SOME sort of regulation and control? If you are president how will you proceed? Do you have ANY ideas at all except, “Obama isn’t being open about Ayers”?
How is Mr. Obama’s “honesty” about Bill Ayers going to affect this growing crisis?
It’s the economy, stupid. Adress THAT or shut up!
If you wanna get a crystal clear view of this mess, read the article posted on the 7th, by Stanley Kurtz on National Review Online.
The above post @ #1….yeah…the market and the economy are trashed….it’s because of the democrats, doofuss, not McCain.
Sorry, claspur, as usual you are wrong. It’s because of Democrats AND Republicans.
But who caused it is less important than what are you going to do about it. Mr. McCain doesn’t seem to have any answers. Perhaps more important, he doesn’t seem to understand the scope of the problem or care to address it.
Talk less about Bill Ayers and more about what your economic vision is…if you have one!
Go to hell Airwick, you Socialist stooge.
Notice that the Obama supporters can only say (in regards to our economic free fall) “McCain doesn’t seem to have any answers.. Do you (McCain) have any ideas on how to address this?”
None of there sentences contain the line “Obama’s plan to stop our economic crisis is…” Because he is as clueless as McCain.!! Open your eyes folks. They’re all in it up to there elbows.
That last comment shows the depth of your intelligence, dswilli. Do YOU have ANY ideas on what the next president should do to address the faltering economy?
Probably not…
You DO know what the economy is, don’t you?
Yeah, don’t blame Mr. Straight-Talk, The
Deregulator, McCain. You know the guy that wanted to put your Social Security into the stock market?!
Hey, if you hurry down to the bank, maybe you can clear out your balance; you can put it in something solid like General Electric. Now who’s the doofus, doofus?!
The most important issue of this campaign…is integrity and character not the economy.
We need to be able to trust our President. We need to know he does not tell lies…repeatedly! We have to know that when he tells us something he means it!
The Flim Flam Obamaman is a liar. He has lied to the American public on national TV, radio and in print. He has had to go back repeatedly to redo those lies by telling yet another half truth to cover up why he lied.
The economy has to right itself. Everything is being done to do that! We just have to wait and see.
The one thing we can do…is punish those who brought this about and that would be the devious socialist/communist Democrats that refused to recognize the warnings of economists, Senators (John McCain among them) and the President of the United States. The Speaker of the failed Democratic House – Marie Antoinette – Pelosi and her cronies (Reid, Schumer, Frank, Dodd, etc.) played partisan politics and would not listen. Everything was fine they said…!
You know I believe they planned this whole thing. Let it go until just before the election to make themselves look like heros and make the Flim Flam Obamaman look Presidential…give me a break…we have got your number!
The most important thing to me and other Americans is trust. The Flim Flam Obamaman is a continual liar…he cannot be trusted with our democracy. He will end our democracy…much to the delight of his anti-American friends such as Wright, Ayers, Farrakhan, Flagler and others. They have wanted to see our country destroyed from within and now they are supporting the Flim Flam Obamaman to get it done!
America…this man is a fraud!
The only “all American” candidate that will insure the continuance of our democracy and freedoms is President Elect McCain. He has my “honest” vote in November and I, trust, he will have yours too!
VOTER REVOLUTION HERE AND NOW!
FLIM FLAM: HE IS DECEITFUL, HE IS A FRAUD, HE IS DOUBLE-DEALING AND DOUBLE-TONGUED!
I would question it also.
Talk to Barney Frank and the other Liberals about the economy. They are the ones who put it in the tank, starting with Bill Clinton and his henchman Janet Reno threating banks to start making bad loans to people who couldn’t afford to pay them back.
Hey Eileen,
Are you referring to trust as in Richard Nixon? Or say, George Bush? You need to go drink some more of your Palin koolaid to refresh your ideological memory if you have one.
Stiglitz, award winning Nobel Prize Winner of Economics said he believes the Iraq war would end up costing 3 trillion dollars. You don’t think going to war with the wrong country and spending trillions made a difference?! You don’t give a tax cut to the wealthy without enough coming in made a difference. All of this money the tax cuts and the war had to be borrowed. You don’t think it made a difference that:

In the mid-1990s, new CRA regulations and a wave of mergers led to a flurry of CRA activity, but, as noted by the New America Foundation’s Ellen Seidman (and by Harvard’s Joint Center), that activity “largely came to an end by 2001.” In late 2004, the Bush administration announced plans to sharply weaken CRA regulations, pulling small and mid-sized banks out from under the law’s toughest standards. Yet sub-prime lending continued, and even intensified — at the very time when activity under CRA had slowed and the law had weakened.

Predatory Lenders’ Partner in Crime
How the Bush Administration Stopped the States From Stepping In to Help Consumers
Washington Post

Several years ago, state attorneys general and others involved in consumer protection began to notice a marked increase in a range of predatory lending practices by mortgage lenders….
But the unanimous opposition of the 50 states did not deter, or even slow, the Bush administration in its goal of protecting the banks. In fact, when my office opened an investigation of possible discrimination in mortgage lending by a number of banks, the OCC filed a federal lawsuit to stop the investigation.
What the Republicans did through easing up on the CRA enforcement and Bush’s deregulation of the bank’s lending practices was to sabotage any effort to use tax dollars to help the poor. Tax dollars to help the wealthy and their corporations?! NOT A PROBLEM!
So what was this regulation that that Frank and Dodd opposed? It was an effort to put Freddie Mac under the control of the Treasury – you know the ones who are in bed with the Federal Reserve. The Central bank that is neither Federal or a reserve. So we’re having some problems with banks and predatory lending. The Republicans idea was to let the bankers police themselves.

The McCain campaign has become nothing less than a well-financed whisper campaign — a desperate, dishonorable tabloid operation on the same level as the thoroughly debunked trolls who spread lies via forwarded e-mails And whenever a cable news channel reports on a gaffe or inaccuracy from either McCain or Palin, the reporter or pundit crowbars into the coverage an Obama or Biden gaffe regardless of whether or not it’s an equally heinous trespass.

Re: Berg vs. Obama Lawsuit to produce a verified BIRTH CERTIFICATE to prove he is a U.S. Citizen
Folks:
If you want to channel your frustrations, energy, and time into something that will have an immediate impact to making MSM get interested in Berg’s lawsuit, I highly recommend getting the word out via email and any/all means possible and hitting the streets (literally) with what Jerome Corsi is going to publish on worldnetdaily.com tomorrow Fri 10/13. Listen to his radio interview he did today via following link.

He is also going to reveal his Kenyan evidence on Hannity and Colmes Mon 10/13 9PM Eastern, 8PM central. This is hard evidence, not hearsay and not conspiracy stuff. This is the real deal. Once he goes public with this, particularly on Fox News, all hell is going to break loose and MSM is going to not have a choice but to start reporting this stuff and hopefully by then the judge will have a ruling on Mr. Berg’s motions.
And don’t forget Jerome Corsi is scheduled to be on MommaE’s program http://blogtalkradio.com/mommaeradiorebels Mon 10/13 I believe.
You know that the Republican Goobers are desperate when they start the “he isn’t an Amuurikan” rant. At least it keeps that idiot, Hannity, occupied.
John, we hardly know ye.
How about some leadership?
Get off these mickeymouse things and deal with the big issues. Give us a reason to follow you.
You are beginning to look like a guy who doesn’t really want the job.
Can’t say I blame you after the mess the incompetent and probably crooked Bushies have made of the country — two wars, one of which the general in charge says we’re losing and both of which have been going on longer than WWII; the economy in shambles; the housing market wrecked; and public confidence at its lowest point in the history of the the country, just to mention a few.
You know, man, I don’t blame you for being discouraged. But it’s not too late to be a hero. Show us some leadership. You can do it.
Can’t you?
Poor pathetic McShrub, he’s a loser on all the issues, so all he’s got is a smear campaign. It’s so sad. It’s like seeing a puppy with distemper. You know that there’s nothing you can do for him, he’s a goner. Now I know all you CONs love your puppy, but ya gotta move on. The liberal government that you’re going to have for the next eight years…or more, will just be some medicine that will make you feel better after a while. The Cons have wanted the DIVIDED STATES OF AMERICA since Raygun, and now you’re going to have to deal with what you’ve created.
If citizenship ain’t legit you must forget.
It’s just like the rules of certification to vote. Anyone who would commit fraud to vote deserves everything a Patriot would dish out!
I really think that these silly attacks on Obama’s “character” are self defeating. What is on people’s minds right now is the economy. I am not an economist but here are a couple of suggestions he may want to consider:
Eliminate the income tax on Social Security payments. This will put more money into the hands of senior citazens who could probably use it. Why tax an essential benefit?
Eliminate the requirement that people vested in 401K’s HAVE to draw from these accounts or face large IRS penalties. Some of the investments in these accounts is in stocks that are now taking a beating. Eventually they will recover but if you force retirees to divest early, they will lose a lot of the value of their accounts.
As a corolary to the last suggestion (and a way to address it) revamp the current policy on 401K’s. At the momment a 401K is a retirement account whereby you invest pre tax dollars thus “lowering” your overall income so that you pay less income tax now. The tax is deferred until you retire and withdraw assets from the account and supposedly face a deminished tax burden (because you earn less money). Rather than DEFER the income tax why don’t you ELIMINATE it entirely for accounts that withdraw less than a certain amount? This would encourage more people to invest in retirement accounts which would supplement their income later. Many of the very people who would most benefit from this progam do not partake since the future incentive is not great enough to overcome current demands.
Restructure the tax code with the objective of greatly reducing the influence of the IRS. Simplify the tax by going to a flat tax for individuals and allow extra deductions for businesses that invest in research and development. Give companies that keep jobs in the US an additional tax credit. Those who “ship jobs overseas” should face an additional burden.
wow..I haven’t heard such intelligent dialog since 2nd grade. and such novel concepts of the modern world. Patriot, your problem can be solved with medications and years of therapy. try researching the history of “truths” comparing what they say vs. the records and you will find a legacy of bold-faced lies from the McCain camp. It is an insult to each and every american to imply that we are gullible enough to believe what he says.I have to question John McCains ties to his old friend Napolean!
Why can’t we just split the Union into two Americas: The Obama-nation and the McCain-ites??
Wouldn’t that be better than what we are heading toward with just ONE of these jerks to lead ALL of us–straight to he11?
RJ,
How about a McCain/Biden co-presidency?
Biden/Ron Paul/Nader sounds better.
