Well thank goodness no one named a teddy bear after their beloved leader, or drew a cartoon, there’d be rioting in the streets. But murder a beautiful 16 year old girl for refusing to wear her scarf and not a peep out of these idiots.

I think some of you guys are being really unfair. From my understanding in Islam a woman has to wear the hijab. Parents have to train the daughter to do so and raise her to becoming a good young woman. Once that woman reaches adulthood, if she chooses not to wear the hijab it’s not in the parent’s fault. However, killing/abusing/hurting in any sort of fashion of not wearing the hijab or anything else is unacceptable. So you can’t let what this guy did dictate the whole religion. Just look at the crazy things that goes on in our own society before we attack a whole religion.

It was odd that the video segment made no mention of the fact that this was a Muslim family and that the girl was murdered for not wearing a hijab. It is poor journalism to leave out the very facts that motivated the murder.

Canada is so diverse and i believe the rules and laws of this country should be respected. No matter where you come from or what your beliefs, you must be prepared to adhere to the laws of this country when you arrive. Most of us migrate here for a better way of life; others come for the freedom of life in this country. I am having a difficult time understanding why there is such a lack of open mindedness for choices that are influenced by the freedom some are seeking. Parents should not force their children to believe what they believe because everyone gets to a certain age when they start exploring different avenues in order to design a path for themselves. Parents should only guide and support not harm children for not making a life of decisions parents have carved out for the rest of their lives. It is disgusting that this report said that the girl “passed away” instead of being murdered. Elderly folks “pass away” in their sleep. Don’t reports also generally mention the cause of death? Leaves one to wonder if she was beheaded, stoned, etc.?

I think people are attacking a religion for no reason. It should be the fact that humans throughout history have been killing, hurting women, men and children. Before you start judging a religion you should really find out about what Islam is about and what the teaching say about women. They are against hurting and hitting women.
