With 80,000 civilians dead in Iraq at a cost of $435,000,000,000 dollars it is presently costing the United States $5,437,500 to kill each Iraqi citizen.
That is way too much!! Bush has just got to get the cost of his invasion under control! What does it take to kill a baby or old woman anyway? For $5 million dollars each you could blow them up and rehabilitate them to lead a normal life again! The locals take care of burying them so we don’t even pay for that. So where the heck is all that money going!!
And where is all that free oil that was supposed to be flowing out of Iraq by now? Gas prices are shooting up again here…
Congress definitely needs to bring this fool under control. If he is allowed to spend without any oversight we won’t have any of our tax money left to spend here in the USA.
How conveneient that the president pulls this crap out of his hat with an election 1 week away – you think Karl Rove is gone – guess agian – this is a Karl Rove type of maneuver. They are all a waste of our time and not worth the space they take up. Of course the democrats are going to raise taxes, because the republicans have wasted money on this stupid war. What we have in Washington is a clever game of keep everyone looking busy with stupid issues, like whether or not Anna Nicole should get her money from her dead billionaire husband- thanks to a hearing in the Supreme Court to these ridiculous lawmakers who vote on issues that are hot button ones, like passing a law to track child predators when a nasty child predator story hashit the news. OR trying to pass a law telling us what life is because a woman in a persistent vegetative state is about ot be taken off the respirator….I am particularly disgusted by the pro-life issues – the politicians are never around when the child is carried to full term and beaten and molested every day of his or her life by an abusive parent who believes in Jesus Christ. None of the politicians – democrat of republican have the guts to work on real issues – for example: POVERTY, GLOBAL WARMING, CORPORATE WELFARE, PORK BARRELL SPENDING FOR PET PROJECTS THAT BENEFIT A FEW IN THEIR HOME DISTRICT, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, TAX LOOPHOLES FOR THE WEALTHY, CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM, EXPORTATION OF JOBS TO 3RD WORLD COUNTRIES NOT TO MENTION THE TAX BREAKS FOR THE COMPANIES THAT SEND THEM THERE BECAUSE THEY BRING PEOPLE HERE TO HAVE OUR WORKERS TRAIN THEM TO TAKE THE JOBS OVER SEAS (I have a personal experience with GE on this one), THE RIDICULOUS DISCREPANCY IN THE COMPENSATION PACKAGES GIVEN TO CORPORATE HEADS, WHEN THE LOWEST PAID WORKERS CAN’T EVEN GET A LIVEABLE WAGE, …all the things that would take real work and real courage by people who really care about our country, our people and our future. Indeed, it would take courage for them to take the steps necessary to impeach this president and his VP for a blatant defiance of our laws -and that guy from the justice department who made it possible for these two to do this in the days following 9/11 – he should be disbarred and thrown in jail. Wake up people – we have a dingbat puppet of a president in the whitehouse who is doing the bidding of an angry and vengeful old man – the VP. We are all beign kept so busy by the media with stupid things like sports and movie stars – we are going to wake up one morning to find out that our wonderful politicians have sold us all to China.
Any of y’all checked out the value of the dollar lately? It’s looking like ol’ Bush has maxed out our credit card, but don’t worry…you can go ahead and just focus on the big bad Dems for trying to pass a few pork-laden bills. I guess it’s much easier than admitting to yourselves that since your guys took power they have spent tax money like Michael Jackson shopping the little boys section of a Toys-R-Us. Hard times are ahead of us and, sorry if y’all didn’t learn it from your parents, but you do in fact have to pay off your credit debt eventually.

Of course, you are mistaken. Many of the deaths are caused by insurgents, starvation, disease, etc. The invasion of a country causes terrible conditions that kill many indirectly. The numbers are disputable so feel free to submit your own numbers regarding the costs of Operation Iraqi Freedom…
