It’s probably safe to say he won’t do well in the deep south anyway, even without stoking fears about oversexed black men raping white girls, but there is a risk of turning off independent voters in the suburbs and Rocky Mountain states. It will be interesting to see.

And McCain didn’t even have the guts to show up for the vote, he skipped it. The only other Senator who missed it was Ted Kennedy, who had just gotten a brain operation. The quote you dropped “I will stand with the muslims” is taken, I think from Audacity Of Hope (it might be the other book though).

If you go look at the rest of the quote, you might find it is actually a testament to Obama’s desire to stand with American citizens more than Muslims. Taken out of context it’s obviously incendiary. Taken within the context it was given, it is definitely a patriotic gesture.

And it pains me to say that cuz Obama is not my choice by a long shot, but I agree with the peeps talking about the true nature of patriotism as it relates to him. I believe he’s a patriot who simply has the wrong philosophy when it comes to our Government (ie Marxist tendencies)

Can anyone tell me why he glorifies his father in a book “Dreams from my Father”, but does not dare mention his mother and grandparents (book or no book). The ones who raised him. Yet, his father abandoned him (fact) after mom found out he was already married to a woman located in Ethiopia.
