How pathetic was that. This guy gets up and tells these fools in the audience that he is going to take all their money and spend it for them and they whoop and holler like a drugged out crowd at a heavy metal concert. What complete morons, Obama included
The man thinks signing a bill promising to spend trillions is a good thing. And, the half wits in the audience cheer him on choosing style over substance. As a wise man once said (or maybe it was a wise Latina woman?) ‘As soon as the people within a Democracy realize they can vote themselves money by electing the politician who promises the most handouts, that Democracy will most surely crumble’. And a crumblin’ here we come.
This gets more insane each day. He’s not a leader but rather a motivational speaker with nothing but a script. Apparently, he has not taken a good look around or perhaps he just doesn’t care. I especially find it amusing that the event was something in the 30K range to get in and how happy everyone was about the credit card legislation. I’m pretty sure that affording 30K for an evening of comedy pretty much takes you out of the demographic that understands credit card interest stress.

Reminds me of Michigan Gov. Jenny Granholm telling the people, seven years ago that we “would be blown away” in five years by her plans for Michigan . Yeah, “blown away” alright. (CNSNews.com) – Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor ruled in January 2009 that states do not have to obey the Second Amendment’s commandment that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
In Maloney v. Cuomo, Sotomayor signed an opinion of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit that said the Second Amendment does not protect individuals from having their right to keep and bear arms restricted by state governments.
The opinion said that the Second Amendment only restricted the federal government from infringing on an individual’s right to keep and bear arms. As justification for this position, the opinion cited the 1886 Supreme Court case of Presser v. Illinois.

Because so many poor blacks live at the doorstep of the American media machine, in New York and Los Angeles, many whites have this picture of blacks as being mainly poor. They would be in utter shock if they drove through some of the all-black middle class suburbs of, say, New York or Atlanta.

They have already told many teachers in our area they will not be returning next school year. Add to that that National Board Certification will no longer pay for tutoring or training (that is over 4k gone from certified educators), not to mention that are reviewing seven schools for closings in our area.

I should have mentioned I was at the dinner at the BH last night and it was NOT 30K to get in…in fact, it was about 1/10th of that, and you could attend different venues of the event for varying prices…for example, if you wanted to visit the pre-dinner cocktail hour it was very affordable for many people who might want to get up-close and personal with the President. I realize that these costs are well above the budget of average Americans, but it was NOT outrageous; AND, there is no quarreling that every President or aspiring candidate MUST have fund-raising events to fill his/her coffers — Bush daddy and son were masters of collecting money from their buddies. President Obama was gracious, outgoing, sincere and so, so well-received. So embarrassing to realize that there is a group of people here who thrive on shouting and exhibiting (in print) hate, envy, paranoia and just plain stupidity. He is a leader in every respect — take the time to read his/our issues in-depth and try to shed your cloaks of narrow-mindedness for the liberating aspects of education.

During election years, spineless politicians are afraid to enact their Big Government agendas and actually listen to the overwhelmingly conservative voting base that wants to restrain government.
Here in California, we just obliterated the Big Government propositions that would give even more money to The State for them to waste.
With a margin of roughly 70%-30% we said NO to bigger government. The only prop that passed… was one that restricts government pay raises when there are budget deficits.
All the Left Wing props were annhilated by a 2-1 margin, and the somewhat Right Wing prop passed.

Election year 2010 is going to be a new wave of Republican domination at the ballot box. We only must keep our employees, the election representatives, from passing any more damning legislation for 6 more months.
