Palin Gives Shatner Smackdown in Surprise ‘Tonight Show’ Appearance

"I think Bill did a great job, yeah, and I think it's only appropriate that I read a few choice excerpts from Mr. Shatner's autobiography..."

ChuckyCheese1   December 12th, 2009 - 12:10 am

Palin is awesome… liberals try to marginalize her (out of fear mostly), but she has more experience and class than the dope they voted for.

FastFacts   December 12th, 2009 - 12:12 am

Very nice execution. Shatner, two thumbers up. Palin, two thumbs up. No politics, two thumbs down. I don’t know about the rest of you but as a guy it is very strange that I don’t enjoy sports all that much but I definitely get my own Super Bowl. 2010 will be a Rose Bowl and 2012 will be the Super Bowl. I can’t wait. I don’t need a three hour game, I need a nine month plus game with more strategy and suspense than sports or any movie could ever give you. Until then we will have to settle for pre-show games and regular games to settle out hunger.

Programs like ‘31 CORRUPT POLITICIANS IN 31 DAYS’ from http://www.americanparchment.com satisfies my hunger just enough to hold on. In addition the news of the day from the same site is like snacking in preparation for something bigger and knowing the behind the scenes before they even hit the radio is even better. The Political Super Bowl of the 2012 Election is on its way and I am getting ready with my #1 foam hand and noise makers. Lets go out and make some noise.

Charles   December 12th, 2009 - 12:13 am

Now, that was pretty awesome, Palin coming out and doing that. She is pretty kewl. Love her!!!

TearEmUp   December 12th, 2009 - 12:34 am

Sarah and Bill had a moment there as they walked off stage. Star Trek nerds all over the world are crying for so many reasons even they don’t understand them….

MTodd   December 12th, 2009 - 12:36 am

That raucous response for SP is gonna cause a lotta leftos’ heads to EXPLODE!

Early Cuyler   December 12th, 2009 - 12:43 am

Now watch her approval ratings climb even higher.

Palin is the biggest joke ever. No real conservative gives her the time of day. “Shatner” is a Jew, btw.

hasbeendez   December 12th, 2009 - 1:26 am

i think he likes her

Larse   December 12th, 2009 - 1:45 am

Bwaahahaahahahaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice to see that Sarah has the guts now to go outside the box!!!

Bring it on girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Craigers1946   December 12th, 2009 - 1:53 am

Terry:
You are an ignorant bigot. I am a REAL conservative and I will vote for Gov.
Palin in the 2012 Texas primary, and God willing, in the 2012 Presidential
election. Oh, and it matters not if Shatner is a Jew, except to bigots such
as yourself. Do you give the Nazi salute before a statue of Hitler every night?
Just asking, you understand.

BJC   December 12th, 2009 - 2:08 am

SPLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT……Can’t you just hear the progressive’s head exploding? Sounds like the audience looooooooooooooooved her…I wasn’t crazy about ole Sarah in the beginning until I realized how Craaazzzzzzzzzy she made the progressives. Now I can’t get enough of her. Who doesn’t stand up for people that are bullied for no reason?

Hooter   December 12th, 2009 - 2:12 am

Thats great good fun, good sport, well done Bill, and Sarah

RogerCfromSD   December 12th, 2009 - 3:07 am

They both were very funny. I love the way Sarah carries herself.

I wonder if Terry ever gets tired of being such an ugly, inconsequential person.

SteveZ71   December 12th, 2009 - 5:49 am

Love it…bet the far left are pissed about this tho. i.e. Daily Kos, etc. However, give NBC a little credit for thrashing one of their own. (Clean Comedy) Just goes to show how real, and down to earth, A TRUE AMERICAN Palin is.

Moderate This   December 12th, 2009 - 5:51 am

Good Job. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it…

claspur   December 12th, 2009 - 7:05 am

Who let Terry out of His anti-semetic idiot box?

checkit   December 12th, 2009 - 7:11 am

Looked like good fun, finally no left attacks, well not yet.

However I am amazed to see Palin on nbc and there were no attacks on her, I think they just wanted to increase viewers.
I did notice the crowd went bizeerk when Palin came out, I would have thought a more left leaning crowd would have been more rude, but they actually got excited and liked her. I guess no one was around instructing them to hate on her.

Terry's dad   December 12th, 2009 - 7:40 am

sorry i wasn’t there to hug you…

txmike   December 12th, 2009 - 8:48 am

The failed policies of Congressional Democrats have sealed Oturd’s demise so NBC has decided to cover all bases. If you do not stand for something you will fall for everything.

Fox4Me   December 12th, 2009 - 8:50 am

Palin/Shatner ‘12

Bubster   December 12th, 2009 - 8:56 am

That loud boom you heard last night at precisely 10:17pm ET was the simultaneous explosion of liberal progressive’s hollow heads all over the country.

Beware libtards, the next few years are going to be very painful for you as your Kenyan messiah continues his spiraling decsent from grace and SP continues her rise as the next populist presidential candidate. Oh, it’s going to be so fun to watch!

mahone dunbar   December 12th, 2009 - 9:07 am

What astounds me is Governor Palin’s natural poise. Along with her many other positive attributes, she is unflappable. She is possessed of grace, wit and good looks, is plain-spoken, logical, and has a value system she actually adheres to; no wonder the Left quakes in their sandals when they see her.

Off Duty   December 12th, 2009 - 9:08 am

Is Shatner a “closet” conservative? Well….I’ll be a purple-sage scallion!

cs   December 12th, 2009 - 9:17 am

That’s our Sarah!

Gordon   December 12th, 2009 - 9:38 am

Somebody slip this past the NBC mind controllers?

To Sarah   December 12th, 2009 - 10:17 am

That is why we love you.

rodlang   December 12th, 2009 - 10:21 am

I’m not saying that Palin should be POTUS but she has charisma and style that can’t be taught. Like the movie…she’s “The Natural”. The sound you hear is of more liberal heads exploding.

gracie07   December 12th, 2009 - 10:28 am

the biggest joke ever is Hussein Obama!!

No real politcal news here, but how can we not comment on the class of our next President!

She will be great!

Ha Ha   December 12th, 2009 - 11:05 am

I thought that was really funny. You tight azzes need to just lighting up some. It’s pathetic to see people that have no sense of humor.

Every thing in life is not about politics.

Government Mess   December 12th, 2009 - 11:28 am

Shatner was genuinely surprised it seemed when Sarah walked out on the stage. The crowd loved her; it was very obvious by the extra long cheers. I bet the Lefties are stomping mad that NBC would let Sarah Palin present herself with class and professionalism. She clearly is not what the left portrays her to be, in fact quite the opposite. Sarah Palin is a class act and carries herself very well. The left will squirm over this you can bet your bottom dollar. Sarah Palin 2012!

I’m a true Conservative and Palin will get my vote……….She’s just what this country needs………more experience and has a birth certificate , hummm!

Terry   December 12th, 2009 - 12:10 pm

Funny that people get hyper when you point out that Shatner is a Jew. Would saying Palin is a Christian cause the same response?

Brilliant. Sarah will save this country. GO SARAH GO.

Shattner is the original hollywood closet republican. He’s been hiding it for over 30 years. Cause he’s.. “GOT TO” mister!

Delta   December 12th, 2009 - 12:35 pm

Sarah is a natural, that was a great little segment. She poked the eye of Letterman, and helped O,Brians ratings!

i-wanna-be-the-next-paris-hilton   December 12th, 2009 - 12:37 pm

***************************
This is good what NBC is doing , you have her out doing more of these shows and have her appear hollywood which she is falling for , No one will take you serious on the important stuff ,you think America would take serious or elect a PARIS HiLTON, Well palin is way deep into this water… but then again we never thought much of her .

i hope they continue the good work

IceCream Rover   December 12th, 2009 - 2:31 pm

Mr Shatner is actually a intelectual progresive who clearly won this debate of quotes from there autobiogrephies, also he got a much louder aplause from the audedence. Progesives have nothing to fear from Palin who likes to shoot baby polar bears and make sasages out of them. After 2012 all of us will be celebrating the election of our leader Obama again and looking forward to our free health care.

nathan   December 12th, 2009 - 2:41 pm

That was amazing….so so amazing…I love her

Bryan   December 12th, 2009 - 2:42 pm

She’s got this trekers vote…..

WTF??   December 12th, 2009 - 2:44 pm

Wow! The idiot read some words off a teleprompter and didn’t botch them up. A big accomplishment for her. I think her hair looked crappy….….kind of poofed up too much, like she was trying to have slightly messed up bedroom hair.

SanFranciscoGo   December 12th, 2009 - 2:46 pm

Cool.

magyarfrau   December 12th, 2009 - 3:49 pm

Man, Rachel Maddow , Mathews and Olbermann are going to blow a gasket. Sounds like she is quite appealing to a lot of audiences now.
I am a conservative and I would believe her any day over the likes of Gingrich, Romney etc. Move over boys, Sarah is the real conservative — she tells it like it is.

harkin   December 12th, 2009 - 4:14 pm

How the heck did this fly with the NBC censors?

Don’t they know Palin has horns and a tail and is plotting to take us back to the days of slavery?

You people need to watch Olbermann……I can’t believe a TV show in this day and age would treat a conservative as a human being!!!!!!! Someone needs to be fired over this!!!!!

Real Beauty   December 12th, 2009 - 5:06 pm

The Democrats hate Sarah Palin because most Democrat women look like Joy Behar.

By going against NBC’s leftist agenda and being pleasant to Sarah Palin, Conan will now be named Keith Olbermann’s “Worst Person in the World.” Which, of course, to smart, independent thinkers is considered an honor!

gosarahgo   December 12th, 2009 - 5:16 pm

Sarah and Bill were great! She is so pretty and poised-very classy-unlike the hateful, narrow minded progressives. Go Sarah 2012!!!!

NEOFREEDOM   December 12th, 2009 - 5:20 pm

Now I know why the Left is so afraid of Sarah she has more personality, intelligence, common sense with a real sense of humor in her Right baby toe than any of the Democrat candidates in the present or future !
2012 Dick Cheney President
2012 Sarah Palin Vice President
2016 Sarah Palin President
2016 Michele Backman Vice President

testicular man   December 12th, 2009 - 5:38 pm

To quote Sammy Davis Jr., I think Sarah Palin is a gas and a giggle, and I mean that babe…

hootsmon   December 12th, 2009 - 5:42 pm

Listen to the reception Sarah received from this crowd. Try to marginalize her all they want, she is still a favorite of the real people of this country. She’d have this country moving in the right direction. DRILL BABY DRILL!

len   December 12th, 2009 - 7:15 pm

what a dummy. i really hope the gop doubles down on palin for 2012.
just give her her reality show already and get it over with.

Lj   December 12th, 2009 - 9:59 pm

And she didn’t need a teleprompter!

Tora 33   December 12th, 2009 - 11:02 pm

That was really funny. No surprise to Shatner though, it was rehearsed. he’s a pretty good actor, those reactions almost looked like he was caught by surprise. Is it any wonder why libs, lefties and trolls are having anyurisms? Attractive, smart and a great sense of humor. Yup, that will leave them eaten alive by their own jealousy

Calvin&Hobbes   December 13th, 2009 - 12:38 am

Best “Tonight Show” by far.

Thank you Sarah.

Sarah Palin for President 2012.

eveh   December 13th, 2009 - 2:00 am

Ah, but didn’t you hear the man on the left (how fitting) say that he couldn’t tell the difference between Sarah and Bill….just a little dig there, don’t you think?

AmericanGal   December 13th, 2009 - 2:24 am

Sarah is so good natured and level-headed, it’s funny to see the contrast between her and that nutcase Shatner, ps when is he going to die or retire. Either is well over due.
I love Sarah more everyday, she’s the woman that all women want to be (yes, liberal lesbians, would love to live her life too!) And that’s what really burns them! ha ha ha. She’s got the life we all want. And she wins.

steve wilson   December 13th, 2009 - 4:08 am

Loved it.
I was lucky enough to see Shatner in 1973 during
his beatnik tour, dressed in black. It was great.
I feel just as fortunate,to see Sarah and Bill
go at it,on The Tonight Show.
Loved it.

SnitchesGetStitches   December 13th, 2009 - 7:03 am

Palin’s an idiot who can’t even keep her own family in check, nevermind run a country.

are there really this many dim bulbs that would vote for her?

seriously, vote ron paul, newt gingrich, heck,…anyone in the gop rather than her. voting for her would be like voting for oprah.

smarten up dummies, if she’s the candidate you can enjoy another 4 years of obama.

Aviator   December 13th, 2009 - 7:56 am

Goodness she got GUTS !!!! super….brownie points for her …Palin for president.!!!

JuliaB55   December 13th, 2009 - 10:04 am

Hey, Terry–I’m a liberal, and Sarah will get my vote, too! Gladly. With a sigh of relief, even, that someone who deigns to serve in public office can be counted on to remain true to their principles and can say no to the machine and has the guts to root out corruption.

Way to go, Conan!

Zippy   December 13th, 2009 - 12:16 pm

I’m not surprised that Palin has a flair for comedy. I’ve been laughing at her ever since she bacame a national figure. HAHAHAHAHA

wjohn   December 13th, 2009 - 2:48 pm

Sarah just has so much class!!!!!!! She scares the political establishment in general because she is truly one of us. IF the people really want change and the government working for us, instead of us for them, they should take a serious look at her record in Alaska. She is a great person that the left knew they had to destroy and discredit with asinine attacks, never recognizing that her experience greatly out numbers now President Obama’s.

Ziggy makes what he thinkgs is a cute little comment about Sarah, but if you take the time to see what she tackled and acheived in Alaska against both parties, you would not be able to deny her ability to effectively govern for the people, with the peoples best interest in mind. Can you honestly say the same for President Obama?

Army of Davids   December 13th, 2009 - 4:02 pm

Senators Nelson (D) Neb. and Casey (D) Pa have said they will not vote for a PelosiCare bill that allows taxdollars to fund abortions. Hold them to their word.

Senators are important people. They should be famous.

John   December 13th, 2009 - 6:05 pm

For crying out loud,.. Ziggy has been laughing to keep from crying, because he well knows he can’t begin to mention even ONE accomplishment of this current President?? And yea, Sarah will have her days of reckoning on this current administration – - she’s already begun to rally the TRUE Americans together to rise against this corrupt, and greedy administration (or regime would be a better term for this dictator and his tax evading criminals of deceit)!!

And Terry and the like-minded (brainwashed),.. they only have bitterness toward her because they too have absolutely NOTHING to boast of their “chosen one”. Mainstream media, kool-aid, and the libs (or progressives) simply being the followers they are know absolutely nothing of LEADERSHIP, and the COMMON SENSE way of doing things. They’re likely hung up on the word FREE.. at least until they come to finally realize that FREE isn’t free at all?

Will Sarah run for President? Dunno… it truly doesn’t matter, …if only her voice of REASON is heard about this nation, it’s very helpful. I admire her poise, personality, nature, business sense, down to earth common sense, and reason. It’s clearly reasonable Obama and his cronies loathe and fear her. TRUTH is the very ENEMY to them.

Pepito cojones   December 13th, 2009 - 6:24 pm

Well done Conan! Too bad idiots like Ice Cream Rover, WTF and SnitchesGetStitches just don’t get it! They’re simply a bunch of stupid, useful idiots, filled with hate.
They just don’t understand how even opposites can walk off stage with their arms wrapped around each other after doing a comedy schtick together.
After all, we’re all American… except for Captain Kirk that is.

H2K   December 13th, 2009 - 6:47 pm

Sarah should NOT run for president. By staying off to the side, she can influence the debate and demand the republican candidate not be another “McCain”-style liberal. This role will in fact be more important to the country than her running for president.

Emudude   December 13th, 2009 - 9:10 pm

Since Obama is President now, the Rules have changed for running this country. Now Shatner and Swartzenegger can run for President. Even Roger Calero (Born in Nicaragua) got on the 2008 ballots in 5 Norther States. Heck, even Bin Laden himself could run for President now thanks to all the Brain Dead People that voted for Obama and all 50 Moron State Officials that put him and Unqualified McCain on the ballots.

txFirehawk   December 14th, 2009 - 6:19 pm

This is dedicated to you moron libs that are scared to death of Sarah. First up is this stupid comment:
len December 12th, 2009 – 7:15 pm

“what a dummy. i really hope the gop doubles down on palin for 2012.
just give her her reality show already and get it over with.”

So she is a dummy how? Keep tryin len…

And 2nd we have this moron:

Zippy December 13th, 2009 – 12:16 pm

“I’m not surprised that Palin has a flair for comedy. I’ve been laughing at her ever since she bacame a national figure. HAHAHAHAHA”

Laughing at what exactly? She has accomplished more than you EVER will and unlike Berry she knows what she is doing. She does not have to call Andy Stern to figure out how to put her pants on in the morning either.. Put the pipe down and educate yourself.

You libs are going to self destruct soon, you can’t keep this level of corruption up forever.

insidecat   December 14th, 2009 - 8:18 pm

Liberals posts about Palin come in 5 varieties:

1. She’s stupid
2. She’s a liar
3. She’s a quitter
4. She has no experience
5. She will not make a good candidate for you conservatives, because you will loose.

The subject of the story does not matter, as long as Palin is mentioned, you get one or all of the 5 varieties.

Question for Conservatives: The first 4 could be said about Obama, or Clinton (governor of a small state), and the last seems to say that Liberals are better at picking our candidates than conservatives are. The reason we ever lose an election is because the Republican establishment picks our presidential candidates and Vermont and New Hampshire(conservative meccas)narrow the field for us. Reagan is the last chance we had to vote on a true conservative. Can you imagine what libs would say if conservatives kept advising against one particular candidate?

I read as much politics as possible, and every comment section is stuffed with this type of thing. I vow to never reply to one of these idiots again. They come to blogs and articles and try to start fights, they get off on it like children, and as much as it might release pressure on their families and coworkers, I vow to ignore them totally.

phenry   January 4th, 2010 - 10:43 am

Palin is a fool. She’s actually stupider than GWB and more incompetent if such a thing is possible. All the jackasses that think fat, drug-addict Limbaugh is a genius come out in droves for her because she’s good looking. Get a life. There are too many problems in the country to assume such a moron is qualified for anything but being another talentless celebrity in the vein of Paris Hilton.
