Now let’s not forget the real cause of the violence in Iraq is that Christian war monger in the White house.
And don’t forget Christ4ever that Adolf Hitler was a Christian too!
And while you talk of Islamofascists, your Republican pal Cheney is over there in the land of Mecca begging the king for more Saudi SUV juice. Maybe he will give the land of the 911 terrorist another $20 billion in arms again.
As for preaching hate. It seems like after the first 10 minutes of praising Jesus at your church, you spend the rest of the hour condemning and hating.
As for coming to this great county, what boat did you come over here on Pocahontas.
These Christian/Republican hate mongers are why the GOP is dead now. They are just like domestic terrorists that seem to be helping to further the goals of Osama bin Laden rather than bringing our country together to fight those that should be fought. Looks like they just turned the situation into an opportunity to take advantage of America rather than defend it.
So you little Christocons can just take your comment and shove them up your brain holes!
The first 4 comments are sadder than the original report. Who can fault a call to end the violence and hatred so evident in the Middle East today? The war didn’t begin on 911, the establishment of Israel by UN fiat, the Crusades, or even the attack on Christianity from Mecca through North Africa and into Spain. The war began in the heart of fallen man and can be clearly seen in the comments above. It won’t end with abandonment of the battlefield, massacre of mid-east minorities, or armchair critics who have neither the means nor courage to walk the walk. Others, with spit in their face and grit in their craw may hold the foreign beasts at bay for the rest of us, — for a time. Only the abandonment of our personal rage, the suppression of our desire for revenge in our own hearts, and acknowleging our own inclinations to evil, will secure peace for us and those closest to us. Pray for peace.
Larse, nice one demensional talking points, I bet the salt malt wing of the Dem party is happy to have a such a simpleton as you on their side. SUV juice? Huh, are you too foolish to know oil is used for far more than SUVs? Your correlation between the “religious right” in the USA and an extreem version of Islamic theology that seeks the destruction of all free societies is laughable. I wonder why you and the Pope would be against the liberation and emancipation of millions of human beings from secular and religious oppression? Anyway, if you’re naive enough to think your Dem. Pres. candidates are gonna do anything to alter the USA’s ultimate goal in the middle east you have another thing comming. There’s too much at stake in the big leagues and neopansys like you don’t have a lot of influence in the real world.
Between this and the child-molesting priests, it’s becoming almost impossible to stay Catholic.
First to the Pope. Unless you have an army that can fill the void that our exit would create, shut up. Now for you childish lefties who think conservatism is a pox on mankind. If not for conservatives, young men and women who VOLUNTEER to protect your lazy worthless arses. You would most likely have fallen under the iron fist of a Soviet regime and in the future a possibly Islamic fascist regime. We know as a leftist you are ignorant of the world around you. Let me enlighten you. Due to past administrations and their negligence and in some cases complicity the world is exceedingly dangerous. Our problems did not begin on 9-11-01. Islamic terror has been on the march for decades. Remember the Ayatollah? The funny little bearded guy who wiped his butt with river stones. He was the focal point around which the Islamist fascist movement was built. This shining light of the 15th century brought down our 2nd best ally in the Middle East the Shah. The people of Iran with loads of help from your Soviet pals brought down the Shah. As for ‘SUV juice’, do you really think expensive gas has no effect on the economy? Fuel costs effect EVERYTHING. Your lunch at McDonalds to building materials at Home depot and everything in between. Costs go up companies cut payroll. The economy tanks like it or not oil is the lifeblood of the US economy. And since your pals Pelosi and company have shot down every effort to make us less dependent on foreign oil, thus giving OPEC the green light to cut production. So now we have the $4 gas we currently enjoy.I could continue but I’m not, at some point you liberals will have to pull your own heads out of your collective butts.
Pope, you should stay out of this issue. Remember it was the Catholics who started the crusades in the first place. Also, you should remember where your money donors come from. Thanks
Just because you disagree with the Pope doesnt mean you cant be Catholic.
Yes, it is time for me to delete this den of idiots from my favorites. Just once I would like to read comments that were based on facts not stupidity. No need to comment as I will never be visiting this site again.
Tubby,
Actually the correlation is to ‘conservatives’ around the world creating violence and strife around the world, controlling their own people and those of other countries thru violence.
Unfortunately, the evangelicals and other releigious groups in America have associated themselves with the Republicans and neo-, social conservativism.
And how does a Bush led war with Iraq fall into the ‘Culture of Life’ that Bush and the evangelicals harp on? I guess that only pertains to US born life, but it does pertain to controlling reproductive rights around the world … at least when we are not killing them.
Tubby,
You would be amusing were you not serious. I repeat, ‘conservatives’ around the world throughout history (whether they be communists, fascists, theocrats, or other,) are responsible for creating violence and strife around the world, controlling their own people and those of other countries thru violence. In the US this means neo- and social conservatives, most republicans support these radicals.
The invasion of Iraq was not in our best interest as a country. The ‘nation building’ of Iraq was not and is not in our best interest. Bush, and conservatives, have condemned us to fighting in a civil war that will ultimately lead to a theocracy in Iraq, and further distain of the US around the world. It will cost countless Iraqi lives, 1000s of American lives, and will produce a long term economic tax on our country. It will not produce a more secure nation or world. Mark my words.
Nation building in Afghanistan after the Soviets were thrown out might have been in our best interest. Leading the world to intervene in Sudan and other African nations on humanitarian grounds would have been justifiable and in our best interests.
It is a lie that the so called ’surge’ is working. Enough people have been killed, and displaced, or are refuges that killing may be down in Baghdad and the surrounding area. However, the violence will continue until we leave that country and will continue until civil war and conservative theocracy is created.
One of the other problems with conservatives sees all in their own image. Theocrats, those which have the most power in Iraq, don’t understand democracy nor do they want to. Particularly if imposed by the United States.
Don’t be fooled, conservatives are power hungry only and do not look to the best interests of this nation. In the case of our country they have spun the facts thru fear and smear to further the goals of the Republican party, not our country. Conservatives have brought Orwellian thought to reality with ‘Culture of Life’, the ‘Patriot Act’, ‘Clean Forests’ act, etc. They have also demonstrated they have no business running the country.
The Pope has no business telling us what to do in Iraq or any other place. It is up to each country to decide for thereselve what to do. If they aren’t civilized enough or they are under the brutal thumb of a dictator, it is up to us to go in there and free them. We have went into Iraq to free the people and give them the vote and let women have there faces and everything seen in public and let them have a good economy where they can pay for the war with the profits from oil. Freedom isn’t free, if we don’t stop them over there we’ll have to stop them over here. We’re fighting over there so the Pope or anybody can have free speach. The real Iraquis love us for it, only the Islamofascits hat us, and Jesus loves us for it and the Pope can just butt out. He sounds like a bitter old many who is mad because he can’t have everything his own way so he wants us to loose.
Mad Max, read Larse’s post, he speaks of, “These Christian/Republican hate mongers”, Not just “conservatives” as you claim. So, the correlation in my opinion is ludicous.
“…how does a Bush led war with Iraq fall into the Culture of Life?” Ahhh, the twisted logic of the modern left….in order for one to have a “culture of life” one must be free to pursue happiness and live free of the fear of political and relegious suppression. The struggle in Iraq is the first steps in achieving a culture of life, liberty and human freedom. Just because there is an theologically driven enemy in Iraq that is determined to deprive their fellow human beings of basic civil and political rights does not mean that the efforts the USA and other coalition partners is wrong or should be abandoned. Infact, the opposite is true; the USA should lead the way in confronting and defeating any such groups, nations or individuals that seek the oppression of human freedoms and threaten our national interests. Also, it does not appear the Pope is attributing all the violence to the USA. He knows who the real culprits of the most heinous and barbaric acts of violence are and it’s not the USA.
USA is #1…Berkeley is #400000000000000,000000000000000001,step to the back of the line, please…You in the pink TuTu get a grip.
The USA is Number One and whoever says it’s not can’t count.

No wonder Nanny Pelosi and the libtards love this guy. The Catholic so-called Church sided with the Nazi’s in WWII. Now their siding with the Islamofascists. Figures. He shouldn’t be allowed to preach his hate in this country, that’s for sure. Don’t give him a Visa, don’t let him in. If he want’s to come to this Great Country, let him sneak across the border at night with the rest of the Illegals.
