Cheney Coordinated Halliburton Iraq Contract: Report
WASHINGTON – A Pentagon e-mail said Vice President Dick Cheney coordinated a huge Halliburton government contract for Iraq, despite Cheney’s denial of interest in the company he ran until 2000.
The March 5, 2003 e-mail, from an Army Corps of Engineers official, said that top Pentagon official Douglas Feith got the job of shepherding the contract, according to the newsweekly Time that hits newsstands Monday.
Feith had approved the multi-billion-dollar deal “contingent on informing WH (the White House) tomorrow. We anticipate no issues since action has been coordinated w(ith) VP’s (vice president’s) office,” said the e-mail obtained by Time.
Isn’t that the guy who got kidnapped?
Besides the Purple Heart what medal did he get.
Don’t get me wrong. I completely agree the kidnapped soldier got a raw deal but besides getting kidnapped what did he do?
I (personally) don’t feel everyone that gets killed in war is a hero. Acts of bravery above and beyond the call of duty is what makes a hero… in my book.
I have given this much thought since my son-in-law was KIA in Afghanistan on Feb 19, 2007.

“oh look… a crying war criminal… how precious.”
They used to laugh all the way to the bank. Now they cry all the way to the bank. Sympathy is a great gig if you can get it.
Why don’t we start insisting that all these war criminals profiting from this war GIVE UP THEIR PROFITS and label them “unpatriotic” if they don’t? Have them try to justify making a profit from war – just let them try! Let’s make sure this war isn’t profitable – only way it will end.
Hey Terry,
Who is profiting and how much? Libs in the early stages of this war said this was about oil. Where is the oil? Who is making money off of this? How much are they making and where is the money? Tell me .. and don’t hypothesize … give me facts. Is this like Gore screaming global warming and insisting everybody has to buy carbon credits only to find out he owns part of the company that collects and distributes the money collected. Give your version of the truth. I want to hear it!
Halliburton has contracts worth more than $1.7 billion for its work in Iraq, and it could make hundreds of millions more from a no-bid contract it was awarded by the Army Corps of Engineers, The Washington Post has reported.

Don Rumsfeld – Former Secretary of Defense
During the summer of 2004, Rumsfeld sold shares he held “in at least five companies after they were identified as doing business with the Pentagon, according to his latest financial disclosure form,” Jim Wolf reported in the September 22, 2004, Boston Globe.
Sold were all his shares in Millennium Chemicals Inc., St Paul Companies Inc., Sonoco Products Co., VF Corp. and Zebra Technologies Corp
Oh, this was the guy who fell on a gernade to save his fellow soldiers.
