Yes…and the dirty little secret that all the major municipal city government around the Country don’t want you knowing, is the huge numbers of Administrators, Directors, Managers, and Police officers and Detectives, etc, etc, who are pulling in six figures too. There needs to be a major investigation of how ALL U.S. governments agencies, local, county, State, and Federal, are more concerned about preserving their annual budgets in the name of protecting and growing their own jobs, instead of doing what is in the best interest of the tax payers and veterans. Keep drumming this story…the private-sector citizens should be outraged about this.

The tick has become larger than the dog.

Must be the heafty salaries of those unvetted secret Obama Czars boosting this average way up.

I would support an executive order by President PALIN to immediately terminate all government pensions and benefits. To fire every non-essential position (nearly all of them) and force them to reapply for their jobs at greatly reduced pay and benefit packages, this will virtually eliminate the deficit and bring these haughty libs back down to earth. Also, ALL tenure abolished.

Thanks in part to that dumb leftist Bush and that charlatan Reagan. Both of them created Federal bureaucracies!

We are supposed to be the “boss”, let’s give our government “employees” a “salary cut”.

How about a nice part-time government (actually right now a lot of them work less
than part-time anyway)with part-time pay then the congress folks can stay at home 3/4 of the time and work real jobs.

THIS IS DISGUSTING….High ranking govornment officials of all types were recently begging us to go along with the stimulus or teachers and policemen would lose their jobs….all the while giving themselves raises and promotions. How dumb do they think we are?

They have THEIR set of rules and we have ours….apparently what is good for the goose (taxpayers) is NOT good for the gander (government).

I have earned more than those six numbers for about 60% of my professional life now. But really, I am not qualified to hold many many government jobs… It really takes the best of the best and those that can stand working for the government

Government pay has been lagging for a very long time. But now that we really need good people to clean up after the bush years, it is well worth it.

Well hell, it takes a lot of pinheads to run the government. Give them a break.

Once they pass this health bill more government jobs. This will collapse under its own weight and the U.S.A. will be a third rate country with a bunch of politicos still collecting a check, shameful.

I think a whole bunch of well paid federal employees are going to soon learn what is meant by “you can’t squeeze blood from a turnip.”

Hey, stupid people, almost all of the Federal workers are not voted into their jobs. They are analysts, clerks, businessmen and women, accountants, scientists, physicists, mechanics, police officers, and so forth just like the rest of the nation’s work force. They also bust their butts to get the nation’s business done and protect us. Military personnel are also Federal workers. You right wing loons seem to like them…or do you?

Liberals are called liberals because they are liberal all right – with your money, they don’t care how Your money is spent.

The fact here, is not that people shouldn’t get paid what they deserve, the fact is is that the folks in the US
making a 6 figure income is about 7%(that figure includes government employees making 6 figures). The folks in
the government only, making a 6 figure income is about 19%.

The government wages are disproportionally high compared to the general population which should make anyone
with “skin in the game”, wonder why. Although, every American knows that in general our government tends to
over pay for everything and folks that don’t know or acknowledge that, Are’Really the stupid ones.

Speaking of stupid…SanFranciscoGo never can quite get all of his facts straight. If all these Federal Workers were overpaid, smart guy, then why is it that they keep quitting to move to the “private sector” to get more money? The main reason that they stay is the retirement benefits which are good but that is often not enough to offset the difference in wages.

G Bush over saw the the largest expansion of the federal government since LBJ(The Economist) and brought the national debt to 6 trillion(The Heritage Foundation).
