Wasnt he a liberal?

Maybe now my boy olberman can get a Sunday slot and really showcase his talents.I wonder if he’s submitted his request yet,he better get on it,before Matthews beats him to it.

RedStateRepubliklan and BlueStateDem are NUTS! You people need to give it a rest with the stupid stuff. Tim Russert was a great political mind, interviewer and commentator and yet even in his death you are labeling him or making stupid remarks. Show some respect since there is definitely no SOUL (mind, will, emotions) there.

eq   June 13th, 2008 - 4:39 pm

Put the politics aside…..
My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Russert’s family, friends and co-workers, God Bless.

Mr.P   June 13th, 2008 - 4:40 pm

Russert was a fair/honest man when doing interviews, one of the rare breeds on broadcast news nowadays and my sympathies go out to his family.

Lets hope they don’t replace him with leftwing nutjobs like Olberman or Matthews. But I don’t care either way really.I don’t watch it much.ABC,NBC and CBS News commentators are all liberal Democrat propagandists anyway.

Russert was an exception,however.

Tubby   June 13th, 2008 - 4:46 pm

“Put politics aside,” my a$$.
Russert was a political animal and in death it’s only fitting that political comments are made.
RIP Tim. Even though you tried to hide it and fooled many people I know you had a leftwing agenda.
Better if it had been Olberman though.

C.Matthews   June 13th, 2008 - 4:50 pm

DREAM ON OLBERMAN!

k. Olberman   June 13th, 2008 - 4:54 pm

Suck it Matthews! The job is mine!

Anon   June 13th, 2008 - 4:56 pm

RIP Tim.

I pray Mr. Russert didn’t suffer.

Even though Tim was another fallen Catholic Liberal there were times when I actually agreed with some questions he threw out at people. But, it was always obvious that he was on the side of the Dems and Libs…he wasn’t as cruel and mean and stupid as Olberman and Mathews though. And it’s a shame that he was so much a part of NBC which is a vile network who’s parent co.( GE) has been doing business with Iran while they help kill Americans in Iraq.
I am however as shocked as everyone else at this. But i am sure all the Secular media types on MSNBC and and other networks will be canonizing him as a saint…at the same time they insult real saints and real Catholics.
Rest in peace Tim…I hope Olberman or Mathews don’t take over your show…theyu wil ruin it as sure as the morning sunrise.

The only good guy at NBC News is now gone.
We will miss you Tim.
I’m sure you received a warm welcome in Heave.

…true , he had a liberal agenda .
…but sad to hear of his passing .

…olberman & matthews aren’t in the same league .

…is robert byrd really still alive ?

RUReady   June 13th, 2008 - 7:50 pm

As a Conservative I must admit I did like the guy! My hope is that he was ready to go. Jesus said “You must be born again”. Death has no respect of persons… One day here the next day we stand before God Almighty. Oh I hope he was ready, Hell is a terrible place for those who are not.

Respectfully Yours

NBC has lost its only centrist; therefore, it has moved farther to the Left because of his death.

President Bush: Laura and I are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Tim Russert. Those of us who knew and worked with Tim, his many friends, and the millions of Americans who loyally followed his career on the air will all miss him. As the longest-serving host of the longest-running program in the history of television, he was an institution in both news and politics for more than two decades. Tim was a tough and hardworking newsman. He was always well-informed and thorough in his interviews. And he was as gregarious off the set as he was prepared on it. Most important, Tim was a proud son and father, and Laura and I offer our deepest sympathies to his wife Maureen, his son Luke, and the entire Russert family. We will keep them in our prayers.

President Bush has class and is a respectful man. The likes of “red state republican” and those who post comments like his, will never be the equal of the President or Tim Russert.

Tom   June 13th, 2008 - 9:49 pm

Tim was a true american in thinking and in his life. He will be missed.

peter c for President!!! Hi is the only one on hear that makes any sense, and he is smart and can write good

dswilli   June 13th, 2008 - 10:04 pm

Mr. Russert was more fair than any other newsman/commentator on any of the networks. I really believe he tried to leave out personal feelings and report objectively. As a Reagan right winger I will miss Tim Russert he was a rarity in these days of activist journalism.

J. Alejandro   June 13th, 2008 - 11:30 pm

Olberman is a pea brain next to Russert. Besides Russert looked just like a nice guy in any neighborhood, a drinking pal type. I’m not shocked at the dishonesty of the news regarding his death and hiding how he was a liberal. He wasn’t as tough on Democrats as he was on Republicans. And why only former Democrat aides and assistants get the news jobs as “journalists”, like George Stuffingenvelopes from the Clinton administration, and Chris Mathews from “Left ball”?

Mr.P   June 14th, 2008 - 12:04 am

I have a 17 year old daughter who, when the 1st time she saw Tim on TV at 3 years old, said “he looks like the moon”.He had a happy face she said.
I told her,”he’s a good guy” and smiled at her.Everytime after that we’d laugh and say..”theres the moon guy”.We still did.Until today.

Journalism has lost a GOOD GUY,for sure.

Speaking of funny…

My 8 favorite Rover quotes:
“I am 47 years out of the God given womb myself…”
“I am semi-retired at 44… My internet business is in the black in my first year :D ”
“I am 47. Power engineer (can’t spell).”
“OK, so you got me, big deal your smarter than a 14 year old. Are you happy now?”
“Screw you SoCal. That was 6 moths ago. I’m 15 now dummy!”
“If he was a nig, we would lynch him for sure”
“No!!, Low Cal Patsy, “I” am the anti-Semite! You just got dragged into it because you were standing next to me in cyberspace.”
“Ok, to Hell with the constitution!”

47, 44, 47, 14, now 15, racist, anti-Semite, traitor and he’s an admitted democrat. (Go figure)

As an Obama far left winger myself… I “fully concour” with dswilli this sad night in noting Tim’s passing …

Too funny…

Poor retarded rover can’t even get his quotes right…

I’d bet anything the prescription statin drugs, that his doctors had him on, precipitated the massive heart attack that killed him. Doctors today medicate their patients to death… literally!

I was glad to find out he was a long time friend of Hal Turner. He gave Hal a lot of information on the sell outs on both sides of the aisle.

Of course it all had to be done on the sly as the jews would have had Tim’s head. I guess he outran them after all.
