Not to take anything away from Serena, who exhibited a lot of fight in continuing play, but what does it say for womens tennis when a top ten player can’t do away with an opponent hobbling on one leg? Not only this, but sister Venus was trailing 3-5 in the third when her opponent still found a way to lose. Bottom line: men on the tour play to win; while women tend to play not to lose. There’s a difference, it shows.
