Shouting Protestors Cause Turmoil on Bill Maher’s Live HBO Show

"Do we have some (expletive) security in this building," Maher yelled, "or do I have to come down there and kick his (expletive)?"

Bill’s last name is spelled “Maher”.

Those punks are lucky Bill didn’t have to tear their throats out!

biffula   October 20th, 2007 - 11:52 am

I cant watch any show that would have the idiot Sheila Jackson Lee on as a panelist. Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrell. That broad is dumber than a box of rocks.

Lance   October 20th, 2007 - 12:00 pm

EXACTLY why this police officer made America’s only politically CONSERVATIVE music CD. I give Hillary, Ward Churchill, Al Gore (track#1 ‘Hot Air’) the reverse-Hollywood treatment–to 11 tracks of conservative feeling. Someone had to–I did! @

Ziootuz   October 20th, 2007 - 12:33 pm

Just listed to your song. Going back to buy the CD. THANKS A LOT!

John   October 20th, 2007 - 1:36 pm

If a conservative talk-show host had acted the way Maher did – he’d be railed for denying free-speech.

But seeing as Maher is a golden-child who carries the water for the liberal causes, he’s given a pass and applauded.

How typical.

Marv W   October 20th, 2007 - 2:21 pm

Ya gotta admit Maher is no wimp. I sure don’t agree with him on a lot of things, but he’s nobody’s puppet. He says what he thinks — and he’s thought about it before he says it, you can tell. He says he’s not a Democrat. He’s not a Republican either. He’s an independent thinker. If more people were like him instead of blindly following their party’s line, it would be a better world.

Quinduno   October 20th, 2007 - 2:36 pm

Maher wouldn’t have gone down there if his security hadn’t been down there; he’s a pussy.

The world would be a better place if Maher was gang-raped by skinheads and then had his throat slit.

Steven   October 20th, 2007 - 2:41 pm

Eh, kicking out silly conspiracy theorists is well and good, but what gives Bill Maher so much credibility to hold science discussions with a panel in the first place? I don’t understand why some people hang on this guy’s word like it’s gospel when he’s really nothing but a failed stand-up comedian who didn’t have the talent to even begin to make it as an actor. His only choice left to him was to start to peddle his own opinions. Why does he even deserve to be identified as a “political commentator.” :S

Ralph   October 20th, 2007 - 2:52 pm

Like his views or not, Bill Maher is a real American that says what he feels and does put a lot of thought into it. Unlike watered down bags of vinegar like Rush Limbaugh, he is not just trying to cater to the tiny minds of southern TPT. People like Bill Maher are what America is really about.

BTW – I’ll file that link from above “www.conservativemusiconline.com” under veterinary supplies for the next time my dog gets constipated :P

Ronnie Whittaker   October 20th, 2007 - 3:41 pm

Yeah man, the only thing that could get Rush’s big ole butt to move that fast would be if someone were moving towards his plate of donuts.

That conservative music CD is pretty bad man…I mean if you want to cash in on these wackos you’ve got to at least try to sound like you spent some time on it. They’re used to hearing real music like The Pretenders ‘Middle of the Road’ as bumper music so you’re home-PC noodlings aren’t going to cut it…sorry! -Ronnie Whittaker

LDC   October 20th, 2007 - 5:03 pm

what “biffula” said earlier. “John,” too.

PotatoSoup   October 20th, 2007 - 5:18 pm

Listen…

I always love how people like Maher get pass’s on restricting free speech but anyone else do that and they get “ripped”. Of course, the kool-aid drinking Maher-ites don’t care.

Lisening to a washed up, no talent former comedian is considered talent to them. I love Capitalism…it only works if stupid people like Maher and is followers exist.

GG.

Ronnie Whittaker   October 20th, 2007 - 5:39 pm

Disrupting a TV show isn’t exactly “restricting free speech”…okay potatohead? Sounds like you have a bit more thinking to do before you call anyone else stupid. Oh, and nice grocers’ apostrophes there doofus: “pass’s” (wtf?)…

byzinski   October 20th, 2007 - 5:49 pm

Even though I don’t like Maher’s politics I give him credit for showing some moxie and testicular fortitude.

Marv W   October 20th, 2007 - 5:53 pm

Quinduno said: “The world would be a better place if Maher was gang-raped by skinheads and then had his throat slit.”

Why such a violent fantasy, Ms or Mr Quindono? Have such thoughts a lot?

scooter   October 20th, 2007 - 5:55 pm

OMG- stupid liberal Bill doesn’t know how to deal with the same tactics of disruption his ilk practice. LMAO- serves the fool right.

Citizen   October 20th, 2007 - 6:41 pm

Like he’d really go face to face with anyone or do anything other than be a spokesman for the government. Yes Maher worshippers you heard me he changed his tune back in the day – only problem is you think he’s still libertarian minded – dude is just as NWO, Clinton/Bush loving as FOX, CNN and the rest.

LaPlaca   October 20th, 2007 - 6:58 pm

Hey Billy Boy, you really looked tuff running down those stairs to help security, you looked like a GAY liberal trying to protect his lover, hey Billy Boy do that MACHO sh$t around real tuff people so you can get your dumb liberal ass kicked. I know your the liberals number one kool-aid drinker??? I can’t believe someone would pay you to be on HBO, thank GOD I cancelled my membership to HBO!!!!

Ronnie Whittaker   October 20th, 2007 - 8:35 pm

LaPlaca, It’s too bad you weren’t tough enough to cancel your internet connection as well because then we wouldn’t suffer and listen to you tell us what gay people look like. Since you’re so tough and such a queer expert, maybe you should polish up your grammar and speaking so that you can be a big tough-talking Republican congressman like Larry Craig, or Mark Foley…or better yet since you like to thank GOD so much, you could be a pastor like Ted Haggard.
Here’s a tiny hint: -tough talking queer experts are usually secretly queer themselves, because straight people don’t get riled up about them.

Reggie   October 20th, 2007 - 10:21 pm

That’s why Sean Hannity and Bill O’Rielly never do audience shows without having the audience handpicked- they’d never have the balls to do what Maher did.

Observer   October 21st, 2007 - 1:26 am

The liberal loves anarchy until it comes home to roost.

Andy   October 21st, 2007 - 2:11 am

@Reggie
“That’s why Sean Hannity and Bill O’Rielly never do audience shows…”

Those retarded POS can’t “collect” any significant live audience to begin with… :D

VGP   October 21st, 2007 - 8:20 am

Look you all, wether or not you like or agree with Bill doesn’t matter , your politics don’t matter , if you think grammer and speaking skills need polishing , guess what , doesn’t matter . Maher couldn’t have asked for better advertisment , for free I might add , than these people shooting of their mouth . You can be sure that Maher recognizes the fact and took full advantage of the situation . He is no better or worse than the rest of the look at me , listen to me , I’m right because my lips are moving crowd . It’s money in the bank and that is what their politics are really about . Self preservation , just like the virus’ they were talking about .

ME262   October 21st, 2007 - 9:51 am

Don’t Hannity and O’Reilly have their live tours where large crowds buy tickets and attend them? How is that “hand-picked?” And what does watching this video have to do with wether or not you like Shiela Jackson Lee? Bill was irritated. There were some loons in the crowd and he popped off at them. Good for him. It’s his show, in a manner of speaking.

Mike   October 21st, 2007 - 11:39 am

This was a publicity stunt … for BOTH the protester and mainly Maher.

Hooter   October 21st, 2007 - 3:51 pm

Mahr the Terrible gets punked by that mainstay of liberal college campuses: the noisy, disruptive, protester. Entertainment at it’s best.

mocus1   October 21st, 2007 - 8:59 pm

Note how liberals are always saying how they’re “nuanced” and “open-minded”, but this panel of libs mocks and ridicules the Republicans and other people who believe in creationism……..yes, the libs love anarchy, disruption and chaos, unless it’s in their lovey dovey chatfest….

Ronnie Whittaker   October 21st, 2007 - 10:02 pm

hey there mucus – The educated among us liberals will never be “nuanced” or “open-minded” about creationism being taught to our kids – because it’s straight-up religious BS. Sorry, but we’ll fight tooth and nail to keep that junk out of the schools we’re paying for with our tax money. You’re welcome to teach that crap in your sunday school classes if you wanna as it’s your tithe money. Oh yeah, and wtf does Bill Maher going after some nutty 9-11 truthers have to do with creationism anyway? “Anarchy, disruption and chaos?” – *yawn*…not today thanks…sounds like something you heard on talk radio or Fox.

Nuanced   October 21st, 2007 - 11:09 pm

It is the liberal who believes that free speech only belongs to the righteous, the appropriate and the responsible as defined by elitist snobs like themselves.

Ronnie Whittaker   October 21st, 2007 - 11:42 pm

boohoo :-( meanie libtards!
Nuanced – You forget that all us democRATs are “mired in moral relativism” so we can never decide who is “righteous”…also, we’re trying to figure out how to be lofty “elitist snobs” while still being “dirty hippies” Y’all are perpetual victims; it’s sad. boohoo.

VO   October 22nd, 2007 - 3:35 am

If you can spot Bill Maher in this picture then you know what’s “really” going on!

http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd102/coasterfan3000/art-of-survival.jpg

Either way- this video only serves as another reason no to pay any attention to what he says regardless of the truth.

I am surprised I even commented on this. There are some really smart people out here!

Jim   October 22nd, 2007 - 8:41 am

Has anyone else given any thought that this may have just been a plant. Bill Maher is just trying to help his ratings. I think the guy is on something to think he could whip anyone’s ass.

T   October 22nd, 2007 - 9:46 am

A science discussion with Sheila Jackson Lee? har…

Kevin   October 22nd, 2007 - 10:27 am

HA! Maher rip their throats out??? The only reason he went out there is because the security already was holding the guy down! HA!

Another example of how the libs want to silence anybody that they dont agree with. WAKE UP FOLKS!!!

If we dont agree with you, we will rip your throats out. Now tell me…. what does that sound like?

Bill Odam   October 22nd, 2007 - 12:15 pm

I think that insane outbusts like that should be expected on liberal talk shows. Maher is a pretty crazy leftist himself, but i dont think that even he is on the level of those 911 conspiracy crazies.

tomsyl   October 22nd, 2007 - 2:22 pm

Instead of complaining, we should all support Bill Maher for his successful alcoholism rehab. This is the first time I’ve seen him on TV where he wasn’t all likkered up; plus, he shaved! Folks, he needs your support, so please be kind. And it isn’t easy to shove someone in the back as they’re being hauled off by burly security guards, either. That protester is lucky Matthews didn’t jump down and strangle him with a pink sweater.

And ease up on Jacka$$-Lee, will you? Why did you think life from Mars, er, the Moon, wherever, would be intelligent?

jeff   October 22nd, 2007 - 2:26 pm

I never liked Maher anyways and anyone who goes to see him is a bleeding Bush basher, and a Liberal, I dont always agree with President Bush but I show respect and that is something Bill Maher DOESNT SHOW, and as far as Shelia Jackson the woman who pushed a police officer, IF a White Republican person did that and you all know it, the Media would run that 24/7 a day. Jackson being a Liberal and Black and a woman she gets a pass. I agree with some people above this was a planted to get ratings and show the publice what a big man he is and him pushing the guy out give me a break, he could have had a gun or a knife, and im sure Bill knew about this guy before the show. VOTE FOR A WINNER NEXT YEAR, I WISH I COULD GIVE YOU ALL ONE!!!! Im not sure who to vote for they all seem full of shhhoiiitt! Good luck everyone!!!

ThoseCrazyLiberals   October 22nd, 2007 - 3:17 pm

It has been said that liberals are experts at looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedy.

Scratch a liberal deep enough and you will find a Stalinist tyrant that tolerates no opinion different than his own.

DefendThyself   October 22nd, 2007 - 3:33 pm

I am surprised they didn’t Taser the guy…

LiberalismIsAMentalDisorder   October 23rd, 2007 - 4:59 pm

SECURITY ??? Maher the Terrible has SECURITY ???

He and his liberal democrat ILK don’t think we should have border security, national security, local police departments, or any other law enforcement agencies.

But he does think he should have his own personal security protection ala Rosey O’Donald. So typical of the leftist looney that is in control of the Democrat Party.

I think he should do like a good Marxist Trotskyite liberal and call the ACLU the next time he needs personal protection.
