White House Accuses NBC News of ‘Deceitful Editing’ of Bush Interview on Iran

“This deceitful editing to further a media-manufactured storyline is utterly misleading and irresponsible." NOTE: The original NBC News story can be seen here. Keith Olbermann's reaction to the White House complaint, including the unedited remarks of the President, can be seen here.

The “Olberman-ization” of the news at NBC continues enthusiastically. One seriously cannot tell where reporting ends and opinion begins with those clowns.

Jim   May 20th, 2008 - 11:40 am

NBC will never get my viewership, period. Journalists need to be held to a basic ethical standard. If our doctor treated us this way, we would sue him out of business.

Woody – you are absolutely correct – dead on! These guys are deathly afraid the public will find out their true intentions!

PaleRyder   May 20th, 2008 - 1:17 pm

Guess they didn’t learn anything from dan rathers little episode last go round. The network of nbc or pmsnbc has gone so far over the left ledge you can actually get more honest and truthful news from al-jazerra.Truth in reporting isn’t an option or requirement here any longer.the hatred that spews from the pie holes of olberman and matthews is astounding, but they seem very content in their ignorance.Use this as a lesson to show your kids ,this is what happens when utter stupidity and intellectual bankruptcy are catered to.They basically are traitors to the American people as their reporting is founded in lies and deceit. They have become the ny times of on air broadcast and quite frankly, something I see in the national enquirer carries more creditability than they do.Someone needs to rescue russert from this before it infects him as well.Once this nation is defeated and the economy collapsed the way soros wants it they will get what they have always wanted, sharia law and they will be among the first taken out by their new idols of the islamic regime in dc.Either get used to praying to the east a few times a day or dump the left lunacy once and for all.

nbc is nothing but a big butt kiss for b.o.

Sean   May 20th, 2008 - 4:23 pm

Susan…what lies? And be able to prove they are lies.

Im sure the research will change your mind.

Woody   May 20th, 2008 - 5:17 pm

It’s amazing how biased the “mainstream” media has become in this country. “What? The President refuted your allegations? No problem, with a little editing we’ll make it look like he confessed, instead.”

Also, it’s rather eye-opening how defensive Obama and the Left got about Bush’s remarks to the Knesset; they’re always afraid that the American people will actually find out their real views on foreign policy (and politics, in general).

tduck   May 20th, 2008 - 6:48 pm

…Chet & David must be glad they didn’t live long enough to see this happen to their once great news organization .

Flyoverman   May 20th, 2008 - 7:22 pm

NBC and MSNBC are enemy combatants.

useless   May 20th, 2008 - 8:35 pm

a) This strikes me more as an opinion piece/attack ad than news.

b) Pretty useless without showing the unedited version. But to suggest that this is not common place among news organizations would be completely fraudulent.

When I was in the Coast Guard in the 90s we were prevented from contributing to any and all news reports after the commandant felt that his interview was cut-and-paste into something deviating from its original form. The lesson here: don’t trust any single source of media, particularly those seeking ratings.

Larse   May 20th, 2008 - 9:09 pm

I see Bush now has a Larry Craig style ‘wide stance’.

PolitiP   May 20th, 2008 - 9:30 pm

It’s pure stupidity for Bush to grant interviews with anyone other than FOX News. Only the sheep that FOX have a favorable opinion of this clown, so why bother?

Funny you guys never mention how biased Bush’s cousin Roger Ailes’ operation is. Could it be the Kool-Aid? Me thinks so.

Sean   May 20th, 2008 - 9:40 pm

Roger Ailes is a commentator not a purveyor of news.
This was editorial misconduct…again.

Susan   May 20th, 2008 - 10:24 pm

How sad, that after 7 years of lies by Rove, Fox, Perlman, Cheney, and the rest, these criminals have the nerve to accuse others of ‘deceitful editing’!

Sucks when the ‘news’ is full of lies, huh?

How ironic!

CK   May 21st, 2008 - 6:44 pm

Calm down everyone it’ll be ok…
Once BHO is president it will be against the law, and outrageous to say anything negative about the person residing in the highest office in the land, unlike the present time. The Messiah leftist president, along with a liberal congress and senate (imagine all the Govt control coming your way), and there will be more laws passed prohibiting “hate speech” and we’ll finally be forced into “respecting” the president, or else… LOL…
Seriously though, unless you want to be branded a racist you will recognize!!!

“Why on earth would you vote for the person your enemies endorse?”
