JustCurious, I think they’re really saying it’s just an act, you know, like He doesn’t really mean it. God’s main job is to help grow men win ball games and help kids pass math tests but He gets bored sometimes or a little cranky (wouldn’t you?) and does stuff like tornadoes and earthquakes just to see if anyone is paying attention.
Justcurious and Meerkat,
Wow, you might be on to something, there. Gee, every team prays for a win, foxholes, etc.
So, when bad things happen, really bad things, I hear folks say that “it’s God’s will.”
God must have a hilarious sense of humor, eh?
Is it my imagination or are the tornadoes increasing in number and power?
I wonder if this is related to human-caused global warming?
But, evidently, this act of God was petitioned:
Black God Damn America Cult Praise Tornadoes Killing Racist Boy Scouts
(QUOTE): “We are honored God has heard our prayers and continued His wrath against white America and her property. We will continue our prayer protests for God’s damnation of this land and her reprobate white citizens.”
Rose,
Boring, predictable comment from the global warming nutjobs. I am just surprised it took 3 comments to get one to come out of their asylum.
Go back to sleep Rose, you are boring.
@Rose: “Global Warming”, as it is defined cannot cause tornadoes because they require a collision of two vastly contrasting weather systems in the upper or lower atmosphere, namely a warm weather system and a cold weather system. If global warming were reaching advanced stages, we would notice a distinct lack of tornadic activity in the usual places, because cold weather systems would not come down from Canada and collide with the warm weather systems out of the Gulf. You might experience more tornadic activity farther north.
The only reason recent tornados have seemed more ferocious per-say, is because they have been killing people. A tornado is not news by itself if it’s out in the wild, only damaging forests and natural landmarks. No, they have not increased in ferocity or frequency. They’ve just happened to form over settlements as of late. Really, nothing new.
Kevin lays out teh smacketh!

Why is it every time some tragedy like this happens, people call it “an Act of God”?
I mean, if floods and earthquakes and hurricanes and famines and tsunamis are all “Acts of God”, then what does that say of His opinion of US?
Maybe those nutbag “God Hates Fags” cultists are on to something? You know, the ancicent Greeks believed that all of humanity were playthings of the “gods” and that Zeus and Apollo and the rest of them reveled in human suffering. Maybe they were right?
